@kelseyhightower@crossplane_io Thanks for the clarification. You're right that ingress is cloud provider specific and leverages cloud provider APIs. Kubernetes APIs are indeed at a higher level of abstraction than these underlying components.
@kelseyhightower@crossplane_io Great question! k8 APIs are built on top of etcd, CNI, & runtimes etc. An Ingress resource is also an API object implemented by an ingress controller.
Agreed, projects like https://t.co/DOOBz213gB are leveraging Kubernetes APIs. A testament to the flexibility of k8s platform.
@kelseyhightower@kelseyhightower I see Kubernetes more as a collection of APIs that define and manage containerized apps at scale, rather than an infrastructure SDK. SDKs are another layer and usually build on top of these APIs to provide a more user-friendly experience for developers. my 2c

@int0x21h@devcentral@F5@Cisco Not really, ACI is consolidating L2 and L3 switches into a single fabric. One component called L3Out will provide connectivity to outside of ACI via routing, to the internet, or data center interconnect (DCI) etc.
@int0x21h@devcentral@F5@Cisco We are covering ACI only for this article. BIG-IP is connected to the service Leaf to provide Load balancing service. any specific questions?
