We desperately need a Labour Government for the future of the UK, I have 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, thinking about their future
So enjoyed talking to @bbclysedoucet at the @edbookfest at the Edinburgh Futures Institute - never fail to be inspired by her reporting especially in Afghanistan where we both want to see girl's education restored.
I’m not going to repost the filth the president wrote about Maggie Haberman, but suffice it to say she’s a great person, beautiful inside and out, an incredible mom and wife and colleague, and an amazing journalist. The president’s comments are disgusting and beneath the office.
🚨UNBELIEVABLE: Gina Martin was at a music festival in London when a man pushed his phone between her legs and took an upskirt photo. She immediately reported it to police, but they told her it wasn't a criminal offense and there was nothing they could do.
Unwilling to accept that, Gina launched a campaign with no legal background, no political connections, and no funding. She gathered petitions, lobbied Members of Parliament, and spoke out publicly about her experience.
Despite the government initially blocking the bill, she persisted. In just 18 months, her efforts led to the Voyeurism Act passing in January 2019, making upskirting a criminal offense in England and Wales punishable by up to two years in prison. Scotland followed, and other countries have taken notice.
One determined woman at a festival rewrote the law for an entire nation.
Respect!
This is a classic jambon beurre, upgraded with Comté, and it works because nothing is hiding. Crusty baguette, good butter, sliced ham, and a cheese that adds depth without taking over. If any one of those is off, the whole thing falls apart.
In France, this sandwich is everyday food. Bought at a bakery or corner shop, eaten standing up, wrapped in paper, gone in minutes. The butter is usually salted, the ham is not cooked to death, and the bread is baked that morning. Comté is not traditional everywhere, but it is a common and smart addition.
What people miss is that this is not meant to be exciting. It is meant to be reliable. Cheap, filling, and done right without trying too hard. That is why it shows up everywhere and why locals never get tired of it.
An African migrant's car in Middlesbrough is constantly damaged by British patriots, preventing him from going to work.
There is a big problem in Middlesbrough with gangs of English men and teenagers controlling the area.
Just spoken to one of the boys on the wall on THAT Sir Billy Boston photo ❤️
Harold is now 72... but can remember it as if it was yesterday.. ."you couldn't get close to him on the pitch, but at the tunnel when he'd wave back at you it made your day"
🫣 When you just want to enjoy your hotel stay and all of a sudden 180 cold and wet cyclists show up...
Our deepest gratitude to @Igesa_fr Village Club Mont-Louis Les Sorbiers, who sheltered our riders from the hailstorm on stage 3, and spontaneously provided everyone with towels, hot beverages and unlimited kindness. Your quick reaction and tremendous support were outstanding. ⭐️ 5/5, would visit again! Next time in better weather conditions though 😜 From all of us at La Vuelta, thank you ❤️

The fastest Premier League hat-trick ever at the time. Something I'm still incredibly proud of ... @LFC ❤️
Who remembers this guy, James White, who wore a “97 Not Enough” shirt to the 2023 FA Cup Final, mocking the Hillsborough victims?
He laughed during his sentencing in court when he received a 4 year banning order
He’s just been sentenced to 24 years in jail for rape, sexual assault of a child, and domestic violence.
Always something deeply wrong with these trolls
Sympathy to his victims
The village gave the scarecrows their annual day out.
Mr Lumpy, Chinwag & Little Billy were all allowed to shout at nobody in particular in the big city.
They had a wonderful time!
When they got back home they were put back in the fields with a glass of milk & some warm turnip.👨🌾

#laVueltaEnCope#escapapodcast
BEWARE: There's a reason Trump is flooding the zone today with Lake America, putting himself atop a fake-ass GREATEST PRESIDENT EVER Family Tree, and now posting one of the most disrespectful things any human could do to the late Dolly Parton.
Something is brewing... this is intentional.
Stay vigilant.
We are not safe.

In a moving interview with me for @bbc5live Sir Ed Davey talks of great progress made by his disabled son John: he can now hold his own weight after the family were told John would have to be in a wheelchair. John, who has an undiagnosed neurological disorder, can also verbalise
