@zeeg For complex features on large systems where you are collaborating with other engineers, it's just too far from the metal
Fine for little fixes or prototypes though, or much smaller projects with a tiny number of engineers
During a pitch a prominent VC once told us the market size for global logistics was only $6B.
My CFO’s response: “So you’re saying it’s smaller than the market for USB cables?”
@honorablesaint@e_cdalton I mean he is 60 though. Isn’t that reasonable for how he should look face wise (roughly speaking) at that age? Or are you saying that he looks 70 here?
Genuine question not sure what to expect.
@juliapintar It’s always been good to be skeptical but I think nowadays people are losing a bit of integrity and it’s a lot harder to trust anything a company says now
So got 5.5 instant in chatgpt is actually pretty good?
Decided to try it as default for a bit and answer quality way higher than expected for basic research given the insane speed
in particular, if you want to do anything truly creative/novel. like a new pattern or a reasonably large remix of an existing one (common in consumer where you want to try new stuff!) it totally falls down
solution is to break it down into a bunch of smaller steps that individually aren't totally novel (very very targeted prompts)
it will absolutely blow your mind how much true resistance training will change your mental state
and you're really not limited in how this is done
using barbells and dumbbells and doing more traditional-ish lifting is a great place to start, or even using machines at a gym. The machines you can really push them hard and they're very safe.
I use all kettlebells for my workouts because I find the movements fun and interesting, and you can also push those very hard
"I think you're onto the high-leverage move, and the reason it's high-leverage is exactly the thing you put your finger on"
at this point we're just burning tokens on non-sense
@staysaasy 1. shows that you actually know things, including things your manager may not know
2. shows you care about the business vs. just your individual work
3. shows you know the value of sharing these details in the first place
bonus: it can often leads to interesting conversations
@levelsio Extremely good. Very down to earth. Focused on the problem. Demonstrated they truly care by spending all that time doing the work.
3x better than most launch videos.
food and drinks consumed in a movie theater doesn’t really go into your body. it goes into your movie theater body which is separate & holy and harm-proof
No one:
Claude Opus 4.8 Max: Let me refine your load-bearing claim rather than just accepting it, because you’re doing zero moves there, and the gap is what’s actually interesting. The one place I’d still push, because I think it matters: your message is wearing content-clothes, but the content isn’t actually *there*. The tell: it’s just an empty string. But the emptiness of the string IS its lack of content. Pull one, and the other goes inert. That’s the structural spine.
