🆘 The number of civilians killed by the Islamic Republic’s crackdown on protesters has so far been reported to range between 12,000 and 36,000. However, based on verified assessments, the actual figure as of a week ago had reached 43,000. This number does not include those wounded who later died from severe injuries sustained during two days of nationwide massacres. The reported 21,000 to 36,000 deaths reflect only those whose bodies were transferred to hospitals and officially recorded by medical staff.

The grim reality is that the killings in Iran were carried out with deliberate intent: security forces aimed to kill, targeting vital areas such as the head and chest. Only a small number survived long enough to reach hospitals; most were killed instantly. Their bodies, often unidentified and uncounted, were collected from the streets by trucks belonging to security forces and taken to unknown locations.

Some of these bodies were returned to families in exchange for payment, while many others whose families could not afford the demanded sums were buried anonymously in mass graves.

This is the urgent warning from Iran’s medical professionals, political activists, and human rights defenders: the true death toll will easily surpass fifty thousand. The international community must act swiftly and decisively to establish a concrete mechanism to uncover the full scope of this massacre.
