I called 📞 Red Giant Studios to know the Tamil Nadu gross. The movie has grossed ₹135Cr and is expected to reach ₹142Cr in 8 days. There are no competing movies over the next 2 weeks. Bookings for October 23 and the 2nd weekend are good, although pre-Diwali collections next weekend may be slightly lower. The current expectation is a ₹225Cr–₹230Cr gross with a ₹125Cr share, equal to #Leo’s share.

🌍 OVERSEAS: #Leo set the benchmark with ₹205Cr gross overseas. #Jailer2 achieved the same in just 1 week, grossing ₹205Cr. With another 10% growth, it could reach ₹230Cr and become the highest-grossing Tamil film overseas.

🇮🇳 NORTH INDIA: 3 original Hindi movies made on budgets of ₹25Cr–₹30Cr couldn’t stand in front of #Jailer2 and became washouts at the box office. The Hindi version didn’t release in PVR/INOX due to the 8-week OTT window. Had it released there, the Hindi version alone could have grossed ₹200Cr. It has already grossed ₹35Cr in 1 week, is expected to reach ₹50Cr next week and could go up to ₹60Cr. #Jailer2 will become the highest-grossing Tamil film in North India without a multiplex release.

#2Point0 had #AkshayKumar’s presence in its Hindi version and grossed ₹250Cr–₹270Cr in Hindi alone, so it cannot be compared with #Jailer2. The multiplex restriction has potentially cost the film ₹200Cr–₹250Cr in revenue, making a ₹1,000Cr worldwide gross difficult. North Indian audiences are enjoying the combination of #HrithikRoshan, #VidyaBalan and #JackieShroff, with #SuperstarRajinikanth as the centre of attraction. They are even watching the Tamil version in Hindi multiplexes.

🔥 KERALA: #Jailer2 has grossed over ₹60Cr and is now the No. 1 Tamil film in Kerala, delivering an extraordinary, record-breaking success. Initially, distributors were concerned about recovering their investment at the price they paid, but the lifetime gross is now expected to reach ₹75Cr. Despite opposition over the #Mohanlal cameo that it wasn’t used properly, audiences didn’t care and made it a blockbuster.

🔥 KARNATAKA: #Jailer2 is expected to overtake #Jailer’s ₹85Cr gross and become the highest-grossing Tamil film in Karnataka. Both films in the franchise are now among Tamil cinema’s biggest box-office successes.

💥 ANDHRA PRADESH & TELANGANA: The performance is extraordinary. #Ranabaali made on a budget of ₹95Cr–₹100Cr couldn’t stand in front of #Jailer2 the film has grossed ₹72.5Cr in its 1st week and is expected to cross ₹100Cr. Many are calling it a costly miss for Dil Raju, who had a good relationship with Sun Pictures but didn’t acquire the film due to the high MG. With the hire system operating in AP/TG, the distributor could earn a ₹60Cr share from the region alone.

🏆 WORLDWIDE: The total worldwide gross is expected to reach ₹750Cr–₹800Cr, overtaking #2Point0 and making #Jailer2 a new industry hit.

📺 OTT & BUDGET: #Jailer2 was sold for the highest-ever OTT price for a Tamil film. The platform acquired it because of its successful sequel status, the #HrithikRoshan cameo and the star cast #VidyaBalan, #MithunChakraborty and #JackieShroff. The 8-week OTT window meant a reduction of ₹40Cr in the deal. The film was made on a budget of ₹450Cr–₹500Cr, and financing interest alone could have added another ₹150Cr. The makers didn’t want to take that risk. The makers will compensate for this with #Jailer3, with a possible release in 2028/2029.

#KHxRK is Nelson’s priority in 2027, followed by #Jailer3 in 2028. The story has been shaped accordingly.

🎟️ BOOKMYSHOW & TOTAL REVENUE: BMS has reportedly sold 13–14 million tickets and I’m anticipating to sell 20 million tickets. It could generate ₹70Cr in revenue, while the movie is expected to generate ₹1,500Cr in total revenue across all streams.

Today the department held by the Hon Cm was up for debate. The LOP Udhay came prepared , the Hon Cm was ill prepared. He had no notes , no files in front of him. All he had as response was he wanted 3 days to respond. Either the Hon Cm does not understand the business of the house or he doesn’t not care about it. He believes he can deliver a scripted performance on Monday. Which will be telecast live and will be bombarded in social media as reels and that’s enough.

Shame on you Hon Cm. We expect better.
