🚨PhD opportunity!!🚨 Come to do a PhD with me @kcrawlik and @kennethbaillie! We will be looking at shared genetic signals between seemingly distant diseases to find drug repurposing oportunities! 🧬🧬More info: @FindAPhD https://t.co/JmD48MMtFn
🚨New preprint from @anavillave 🚨 Collaborating with GoDARTS and CLSA we looked at proteins related to loss of vascular complexity in our 👀. And we found inflammageing markers!🙀 This opens new routes for prevention of aging diseases @MariePigeyre

I always say jobs in my lab are great opportunities but this one really is. The last incumbent published 3 1st-author @Nature papers, found a treatment for Covid, and now has a senior job in pharma.

SURVEY ALERT!! Are you generating lists of effector/causal genes based on GWAS? Interested in using other’s lists? Hampered by lack of standards & infrastructure? Together with @KPortalNetwork we want your input to a new standard: https://t.co/0TDJSnyujn #gwas#genomics#FAIRdata
This April I will be running the @LLHalf in memory of my nephew Guifré and in support of the work that @tommys does for those who suffered baby loss.
If you are interested on contributing, here is my fundraising page! https://t.co/6EjU4C8u7c
📰 Published in @Nature today: 13 leading biopharmaceutical companies have collaborated to create the world's largest proteomic dataset using UK Biobank blood samples, forming the most detailed study of how genetics & proteins influence disease.
The Held In Our Hearts team are delighted to again invite our incredible community to join us for the Walk of Light around Arthur's Seat on the 15th of October - where we will come together as one community in remembrance of our precious little one's who are so dearly missed 🌈
Why do some people develop severe COVID-19 while others experience no symptoms at all? Which genes are associated with severe COVID-19? In our new paper, we analyse 24,202 cases of COVID-19 with critical illness: https://t.co/Hhgk705H0v

Delighted to share biggest paper yet from GenOMICC study. Our first report found 5 genes underlying critical covid, one of which pointed to an effective new treatment (baricitinib). Now we report 49 genes & multiple new drug options

🆕 @Nature
We use rudimentary clinical risk factors for who may develop critical Covid, such as age. But now there are 49 genomic loci that associate with increased risk, help to elucidate biology, no less possible treatments

A #GWAS from @anavillave, @erolaPC, & @mobernabeu finds an inverse relationship between the progression of coronary artery disease & retinal vasculature complexity measured as fractal dimension

El problema del acoso laboral más común (en mi experiencia) es que es menos mediático: no se trata de un solo evento horrible que te haya pasado. Son las microagresiones constantes que, por su efecto acumulativo, acaban minando a los/as investigadores/as junior.
🌟Proud to share our paper 'Adeno-associated virus 2 infection in children with non-A-E hepatitis', out in @Nature today!🌟
