Pi v0.85.0 is out!
Highlights:
- Persistent Claude thinking effort: Anthropic transports preserve per-turn effort and recover from signed-thinking mismatches
- Fullscreen transcript controls: jump to the latest message from a scrolled view with an embedded working indicator
- Restorable in-memory sessions: resume externally stored session entries through the SDK

Pi now has 100000 stars on GitHub⭐️Thank you People of Pi for your contributions and support. The community is growing faster than ever!
Pi v2 coming soon…
There are many agent harnesses, but this one is yours。
Old man yelling at Claudes。
🔥 This may be one of the stronger open-model releases I've seen lately.
🎉 It beats GLM-5.2 and DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 across every benchmark.
Ornith-1.5 was released, and it's a 397B MoE under the MIT license.
The training method is interesting
Instead of only learning from a fixed pile of training data, Ornith-1.5 uses a self-improvement loop where the model:
🧠 Invents new tasks
🛠️ Builds its own task-specific harness/scaffold
🤖 Attempts the problem
⚖️ Evaluates the result
📈 Trains on what happened
🔁 Then generates harder problems near the edge of its abilities
So, as the model improves, it tries to make its own training problems harder.
And Ornith says the resulting 397B model is competitive with frontier closed models on several agentic/coding benchmarks.
Examples of benchmarks ...
