@hxxntrr Growing and expanding market is one of the toughest things to do in business.
You aren't partnering with someone for financial reasons, it's all logistics. Expertise is what you gain
@MikeJoh14725926 Tell that to the parents of kids who the schools have absolutely failed over the last 10 years. They have zero power
Framing this as an undemocratic takeover is a lie. That local ISDs are representative is a lie
@didier_paul@mtaibbi The NYT thought it was worthy enough of investing their resources on.
Are we not supposed to read and think about and debate what is published in the NYT? What is the point of it if not?
@MVG_Mew2King So the thing that turned Elon Musk from a billionaire to a trillionaire was SpaceX. Do you not think SpaceX is working to change the world for the better.
If your idea on changing the world is good enough, it should be able to produce revenue as well.
@aakashgupta Yeah the things about being a "beach bum" is you love the beach and gear your life around that fact. So your job pays little bit you get to spend more time at the beach. I know some snow bums and they love their lives.
Not good for a family but it's a smart hack for single life
@FlGrownPatriot@Seekerof1Truth@GarbageHuman24 This is probably the hard part for her to swallow... She could marry someone who does climb the utility poles and then not have to live with her parents and have a family of her own.
I'm not sure what she's looking for in life but financial independence isn't on her horizon
So I have started to use AI, specifically Gemini, more for just quick internet research.
One thing I found that it absolutely cannot figure out is the timing of events especially across time zones. It almost never gives the same answer twice and the 1st answer is usually wrong
The World Cup has turned America into a discovery channel for the rest of the world.
And they are not handling it well.
In the best possible way.
Here is what they are discovering:
Free public restrooms. Europeans pay every time.
Free water at every restaurant. Just appears.
Free refills. Coffee. Sodas. Iced tea. Unlimited.
Free chips and salsa before you even order.
Free warm bread with dinner.
Ice in drinks like civilized people.
Air conditioning everywhere. Not a moral debate. A fact.
Parking lots attached to the actual place you are going.
Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it.
Ranch dressing by the gallon.
Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced.
Dental care that actually works.
Bucceeโs. There are no words for Bucceeโs.
Then they found the grocery stores.
Five of them within one mile.
Each one the size of an aircraft hangar.
Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday.
The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes.
In silence.
Processing.
They finally understand why we do not have trains.
We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive.
Parking lots the size of small European countries.
Airports in every city worth visiting.
Why would we need trains.
The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle.
The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak.
The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre.
The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas.
Welcome to America.
Everything is free, enormous, air conditioned, comes with chips, and has five grocery stores within a mile that will sell you any cut of any animal you have ever imagined.
Write that down. ๐ฆ
@Godel_number@politicalmath You can do a pride night without forcing the players to participate. I mean they do this all the time with other events. Just decorate the stands/seats and offer some giveaway to fans or encourage fans to wear gear that supports. Sell some t-shirts
@ATXVideos@austintexasgov My parents used to live right there back before it was "redeveloped and improved". It's amazing how sketchy it has become when it used to be just a nice open field.
Reducing visibility with all the greenery and art and junk turned it into a really gross place
@LoewyLawFirm I will say the market FEELS different than it did 15 years ago. Very much like early crypto speculation runs and volatility.
I wonder if this is what the dot com boom felt like
@LoewyLawFirm I don't expect them to go full Nascar but this is obvious. Since it's Texas I expect they'll only pick a sponsor that has a logo that doesn't mess with the look of the uniform too much
When SEC splits from NCAA some teams will go full NASCAR though
