The CPDM boat appears to be sinking faster than many anticipated. On Sunday, July 6, 2025, 55 members of the party, including youth leader Boubakari Moussa, resigned. They said they were unhappy with the party’s leadership and lack of results. This comes just months before the presidential election in October. The resignations happened in Ebendi-Nkolmintag, a strong area for the CPDM. This is the second big defection in 2025. In April, 44 CPDM members in Obala joined the opposition SDF party.
