@markmccaughrean @ruth_mottram @esa @Arianespace @aprea And to repeat what Mark said, the Ariane 5 launch was part of the European contribution to the project, modifications were made to make sure JWST had the best possible ride and Ariane 5 did the perfect job 👍

@markmccaughrean @ruth_mottram @esa @Arianespace @aprea There is also Atlas V and probably Falcon 9 in expendable version (I haven’t done the performance calculations to L2 injection orbit). However you also have to consider other aspects like fairing size - Ariane 5 has one of the biggest fairings available
