@JasonMBrodsky This is partially true. There was a draw down of U.S. forces in Iraq. Much of it preplanned, but accelerated since the conflict. Some other positions, that weren't scheduled for demobilization scaled back presence. Al Asad vacated well before the conflict in coordination with GOI
