Development and kashmir:
While Delhi celebrates "Naya Kashmir" by inaugurating Ram Mandir in Ayodhya (which is very much a symbolic celebration), the whole india and media is singing songs about "development" in Kashmir post abrogation of #Article370 (1/n)"
If you think that your oppression is the only one that matters, then you’re not really fighting for equality or justice.
And yeah, one day, we’ll defeat the fascists, but it wouldn’t be a better world - cause there’ll always be those whose oppression is a “joke” to you.
@hganjoo153 When I meet people in real life, I feel reconciliation is possible. But the social media is full of hatred and denial on the both sides. It is so sad that to prove one community suffered, we try to disprove the sufferings of other community.
I'm really excited that a personal essay I wrote on living with anxiety got published at @TheMindClan_In, which is a wonderful platform for all things mental health. You can read it here: https://t.co/BJBcTnf87q
Went to hospital for regular check up & got reminded of a funny (or embarassing) moment of my childhood.
Must have been in 3rd -4th standard . I was having dinner with family- parents, grandfather, and sister.
There used to be advertisement on DD National on male sterilisation
Sometime back I called my sister to ask if I actually did it or my brain is just making up stuff. Turns out this memory is true.
Bachpan se hi kaafi advance tha.
It used to go "Nasbandi karao aur pati no. 1 ban jao"
We were having food and the ad came on t.v. I turned to my dad and went "Daddy aap bi nasbandi karao aur pati no. 1 ban jao"
I don't remember if anyone said anything for rest of the meal. I just remember weird awkwardness.

Lay off @Sci_Hub and my hero Alexandra Elbakyan
I registered for MLC voter lists in Telangana and I get a message from the BJP Floor Leader about my successful enrollment. How are my details shared with BJP @ECISVEEP ?
@banihalech@Ta_pestry@searchkashmir The point being we need to lament and express our loss. But also need to acknowledge others' loss. We gotta find the way forward.
One had to sell his house in distress sale is sad in itself, but it is not same as "being occupied".
By throwing words so easily, we are making mockery of our own plight. There are people whose houses were actually occupied and they have cases going on.
@banihalech@Ta_pestry@searchkashmir I think we need to acknowledge how pandits as well as Muslims have suffered from the conflict.
Half of the time we are just denying each other's lived realities. One will say how pandits just left kashmir on the say of jagmohan, other will say gawakadal massacre was lie
@banihalech@Ta_pestry@searchkashmir And I feel word occupied comes with such strong connotation. Especially when the writer thinks kashmir can't have any solution as long as it remains home to homogenous population.
@banihalech@Ta_pestry@searchkashmir Property act on time and efficiently.
When something is occupied, the person can be legally kicked out. I don't think when we talk about moving back to kashmir, it should involve uprooting of people staying in houses which they bought in distressed sale 30 yrs ago.
Ordering pizza because "tonight was a good night of edits and I deserve it" or "tonight edits were painful and I need it" is not a sustainable outlook towards life.
