@RidgeandFrost@kevinhollinrake@SophyRidgeSky@WilfredFrost The Tory party spent the last 630 days backing Trump - privately lobbying him behind the scenes & going so far as backing his war on Iran
but now
22 days before anticipated wipe-out, Tories want to pretend they have concerns about Trump
The Lib Dems called him out from start
- Adult social care service
- Investment
- Housing
- Electoral reform
- Recognition that Brexit was a disastrous mistake
- Water companies under public supervision
Hope - and ambition for real change - make a return to British politics!
I miss the UK before Farage and Reform turned division and resentment into everyday politics. A time when people could disagree without hating each other, communities felt safer, and the country felt less angry. Maybe it’s nostalgia but I know we’ve lost something. Why? Tell me.
Who remembers the days when the EU was not even an issue, not even a <1% issue when it came to voter concerns. When Farage was unheard of. When racism was called out. When society was far kinder and tolerant. What the fuck has happened?
Crap debate on #bbcqt tonight on rejoining the EU. No panellist makes the key point that a steadily increasing majority of the public now want Britain to rejoin the EU
This is just performative posturing that does very little to save money - it is Tory targeting of the poorest
Kemi's ruthless crackdown on Benefits Street: Tory leader says those who have not worked long enough will see handouts cut 30% and they will be barred from spending the rest on booze, cigarettes and betting
"More than 300,000 people would be moved on to the lower 'Subsistence Allowance', saving taxpayers half a billion pounds a year by the end of the decade, it is claimed."

Working people can barely afford booze, fags or gambling.
Tory plan to limit long-term dole to
essentials seems fair. We should help people into work - not decline.
Fair?
@centre_right_ This stereotyping tarring everyone with the actions of a few lazy feckless claimants is disturbing.
I suggest targeting the few shirkers but also the tax evaders and avoiders is the way to save money.
Imagine if Joe Biden was recorded gushing to Xi Jinping multiple times in 10 seconds about how much respect he has for him.
MAGA, what would you have said and how many times would “communist” have been used in your attack?
Today the Tories have proposed banning benefit recipients from spending their money on cigarettes, alcohol and gambling.
Their proposal involves benefits being paid to a prepaid debit card that blocks such payments.
This from the party that drove the country to drink.
The government classify it as a benefit whatever we thing.
So if you are a pensioner and read in the Daily Mail that the benefits bill is unaffordable, know that more than half of it is you and me.
his quiet Kent home became Churchill’s political workshop
Chartwell in Westerham, Kent was Sir Winston Churchill’s family home from the 1920s until his death in 1965 — but its most revealing room was not a grand reception space.
His study became the place where Churchill worked, dictated letters and shaped ideas from a desk in the house he had built around family life. (I always find the ordinary rooms more interesting than the official portraits.)
The house still shows the tension between the public politician and the private man: a library full of working books, a studio where he painted, and rooms where the Churchills lived away from Westminster.
My sister Louise would probably ask whether the famous speeches matter more than the place where the decisions and drafts began. I’m not sure there is a simple answer — but Chartwell makes the working habits behind political history much easier to picture.
Which other British politician’s home reveals something unexpected about their work?
