My first TT job (2018-2020) paid $64k, 4-4 load, terrible benefits. Colleagues advised that if I ever have children I should time for May births or prepare to take leave without pay.
That job made it impossible to plan a future.
I left.

The team is here and ready to go! Stop by the booth and say hi and take a look at MIP and @dg_medieval titles, new and classic! Catch Emily or Erin for a chat or DM @esweany or @TyCloigin to discuss potential projects or with questions.
Congratulations to MIP acquisitions editor @esweany, who will be featured as the keynote speaker at the 10th Annual Medieval Studies Colloquium, "In Sickness and in Health: Medieval Healing and the Community," at the University of Wisconsin–Madison tomorrow!
We almost didn't make it because of an ice storm, but we are at the @MedievalAcademy Annual Meeting! Enjoy 20% off all our titles and find out more about our series and publication programs with @dg_medieval and @TEAMSmedieval. #MedievalTwitter
Hilariously, my mom, watching from her hospital bed, shouted “Jane Austen” after the category of Literature was revealed but before the question was asked. So maybe she refused to be conscious for twelve hours this week because she was time traveling to the future.
@Catherineoscopy These questions are becoming a thing for undergrad admissions now too. This is NYU’s new essay question, and there are a few more using a version of it that I am not remembering at the moment.
@Forgehammer@heyprofbow Any assignment due at midnight must be due via an online submission portal, so can your daughters simply turn in their assignments early? I also do the midnight due times but it is bc I recognize students often work late at night & want to give them as much time as I can.
@JortsTheCat@_juicyanna @queenveej If this is Jorts' milkshake duck moment, I'm gonna be real sad it is implying that people who are using a grocery shopping service for any number or reasons don't deserve edible vegetables and for a shopper to actually look for the products in the store
