@jesbattis Neorxnawang, from Old English, meaning essentially "Paradise"
Ofsticode, from OE, "stabbed," I just love the way it sounds like exactly what it is
Heafodswima, "swimming in the head" (dizzy)
If you go by sheer frequency of usage apparently "ostensibly" is my favorite word...
Today, @aupresses asks, "Who is #NextUP?" Read MIP's first #UPWeek blog post about @restraple, Marketing Specialist at MIP--then join us the rest of the week to find out what else is #NextUP at MIP!

@CheckYoeSelf@eliza_audacis Michigan actually controls all three branches of state government for the first time since 1984! Plus we got Prop 3 passed (adding access to abortion to the state constitution).
@medievaliste @Maria__Winter Yep... I'm working in marketing in academic publishing because, you know, I needed a job, and I know that decision has pretty much doomed me to never getting a tt job in English lit
@mlkharrington Smuckel. It's basically a big dollop, invented when my sister wanted a smuckel of whipped cream on something. I kind of can't believe it's NOT a word.
@bruceholsinger One of my students in Brit Lit wrote an elegy in the voice of Grendel's mother, combining our study of that character, women in EME lit, and the elegy genre. One of the best (and most enjoyable!) papers I ever read.
@bruceholsinger In the reflective/analytical essay I asked them to talk about why they chose the text they did, how they approached the adaptation, specific choices they made and why, etc. Really makes the students show what they understand about the text and encourages deep engagement w/ it.
@Pompous_Basturd @Arc_Hammer89@ryanhoulihan I love this movie and watch it every year at Halloween and people are always kind of shocked that I like it. ๐
@Emparsnips I've been sewing for at least 20 years at this point and I DID NOT KNOW about fabrics store .com's free patterns!!! ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ
Thank you!
