Every Hollywood studio had some kind of animation operation in the 1930s. Of the whole host of series that spawned from that, Universal and Walter Lantz's first color series, Cartune Classics, may be among the most obscure. So of course I wrote about it.

@SiddhantAdlakha But I’m not usually seeing the prod side of things (besides what some student share with me, which are decidedly not in those veins), these are just the ideals that come up

@SiddhantAdlakha I’m a film studies instructor at a university and Tarantino is a major touchstone, as are the usual suspects Nolan, Spielberg, etc. The older masters students tend towards that but my undergrads at another uni brought up Wes a lot (Asteroid City was newly out to tbf) and Peele
