@_zhaheer People don't realize how important critical thinking is...I think in future there will be classes for it, making standalone decisions where necessary is rare than ever, in a current world where almost everything is shoved down your throat and your mind being pulled in directions.
@thedankoe One of key concepts from Emmanuel Kant is that the universe is chaos...trying maintain to maintain order is pointless. Instead, thrive in the chaos itself.
That "economically valuable work" line is literally shifted from OAI's own character, which is worth noting:
It's an economic bar, not a benchmark of understanding or general reasoning and OAI is the one deciding whether it's been met.
That's the part of why the framing drew so much skepticism on why OAI gets to grade it's own test with no external referee.
On top of that not showing Astra meaningfully ahead of rival models when measured on broader capability rather than domains like cybersecurity exploitation.
This tweet has literally caused a lot of people to be skeptical on what we mean by AGI arriving.
@GaryMarcus pointed out on his substack that @JensenHuang declared victory without a definition and that simply muddies the water.
I think Nvidia being the top AI chipmaker, do have a say around the rise of AGI...and I guess they should at least give us more in-depth breakdown of what they mean by AGI.
@ChaseLochmiller@OpenAI GPT-6 Astra, trained on ~100K+ NVIDIA Grace Blackwell NVLink72. From ChatGPT to o1 to Astra in 4 years.
AGI has arrived. Congratulations @OpenAI team.
400K GPUs coming online next.
Believing in evolution of man as a Christian it's showing that you're proclaiming a faith that life has no purpose and there's no personal connection between man and his creator. This isn't about science vs religion but rather using the trustworthiness of science to promote a belief.
If there's #1 intelligence that I operate on is this: In anything I do whether it's work. project. client I serve. I do it for God then God uses it to help the intended people. There's no way I'm doing it for you...you don't give a shit about me or my work, no human does. And that's actually a good thing cause in the grand scheme of things, we're all pursuing something way beyond us, which explains why there's a lot of religion out here. Either way that's my perspective.
@mal_shaik I've learnt that it's about being optimistic no matter what...cause you're literally entitled to nothing, this world doesn't owe anyone shit so the best thing one could do is just stay optimistic and continue the grind.
Auken wrote an essay called "Welcome to 2030, I own nothing, have no privacy and life has never been better. " It was for speculation if I put it correctly, but the key thing is that he was describing a possible future where daily needs are accessed as services instead of owned.
@unkonfined Building something real takes time, effort and the right strategy...yes, it's hard I couldn't agree more but what else am I supposed to do?
@UnRialist You kind of mean polymaths, it's so cool actually to have multiple interests...you start seeing life in different lenses. And what makes it even cooler is that you live by exploration.
@LeilaHormozi The moment you start grasping human behavior, you'll come to understand how certainty plays a key role in predicting someone's decisions. See, when you can promise someone certainty and kind of prove it to them. You have like 95% of their trust.
