I thought i was strong until I came across a photo from my gallery where I had to sneak my mother to Karen to mourn Fidel Odinga. Of course she knew how the system works since the time of colonialism. As a family, every political move we made/makes since independence we were/are reprimanded unless we work with the government of the day. Sometimes we were/are cautioned by both the government and the opposition. Little did we know that it was/is a well circulated move by the system to take advantage of our patriotism while gatekeeping us from near any power #RailaOdinga
We are aware of the court action filed in Kenya against the Ebola isolation facility. We are in touch with Kenyan authorities and are optimistic we can resolve objections.
For too long, Africa’s resources have been extracted, the value captured elsewhere, the environmental damage left behind.
No more exploitation. No more plundering.
The people of Africa must benefit - first & most - from the resources of Africa.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS
HISTORY MADE AT MIRARANI
Antoine Moses (@antomosplant), the reigning @GWR record holder for the most trees planted in 24 hours, has set a new global record after planting an extraordinary 47,460 mangrove propagules within 24 hours at Mirarani, Tudor Creek in Mombasa County.
The historic feat was sealed at exactly 08:01 hours, after a relentless 24-hour stretch of physical endurance and mental grit. As the final tally was confirmed, the site erupted in celebration, transforming the moment into more than just a record, but a powerful symbol of commitment to environmental restoration.
This achievement comes at a time of heightened global attention, as Guinness World Records is still reviewing the attempt by Kenyan Hillary Kibiwott to surpass Antoine’s earlier terrestrial tree record, raising the stakes and significance of this latest milestone.
Backed by the Kenya Forest Service, local communities, and conservation partners including Earthlungs, the effort has shone a global spotlight on mangrove ecosystems, critical coastal buffers that remain among the most threatened in the world.
The closing ceremony was graced by @GMugambi_CBS, Principal Secretary in the @Forestry__Kenya, alongside senior officials from @Environment_Ke, the Kenya, @KEFRIHQ, @EarthlungsF, and other key partners and stakeholders.
With this achievement, Antoine Moses has not only defended his global standing but elevated it, delivering a defining moment of resilience, purpose, and environmental leadership on the world stage.

I was misquoted on Mau-Mau role in the fight against colonialism. What I meant and I repeat: every ethnic community had specific grievance which informed the nature and approach of their fight.
Likewise, not every Kenyan represented the country in the Lancaster negotiations. There was a diversity in strength; a fact that can't be downplayed. Unless there have been previous attempts to distort Kenyan history for economic advantage
Former Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has lauded ongoing government development projects in the county, but urged faster implementation to ensure timely completion and benefits to residents.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FORESTS

Prof. Peter Odhiambo is seen here with General China after conducting an operation on him to remove a bullet that had been lodged in his chest, just close to the neck for 36 years.
When General China of Mau Mau was shot and captured by British forces in 1952, it never occurred to him that one of the bullets had penetrated his chest and embedded itself at the root of his neck.
Although what China assumed to be a normal bullet wound later healed, it didn't take long before he began experiencing symptoms similar to those of Bronchial asthma.
One day experiencing breathing problems, he decided to visit KNH for treatment in 1988.
An X-ray was done and whoa!, a bullet shaped object was observed at the central part of the upper chest, behind the upper limit of the breastbone. Dr Odhiambo asked China whether he had ever been shot, and he replied in the affirmative.
Without any more questions , China was referred to the thoracic and cardiovascular surgical unit where Prof Odhiambo assisted by a team of medics carried out the delicate operation to remove the bullet that appeared rusty. It was later handed to National Museums of Kenya.
