"Are you expecting the Commander-in-chief to put on Khaki?"
Goodluck didn't just put on khaki. He was at the frontline, gave direct orders, motivated the troops and kept the morale high.
How can Court grants @sowore ₦200 million bail, order him to deposit his international passport and provide two sureties.
People are looting our money day in and day out yet nothing has happened to them but Sowore is the problem now.
Ridiculous 🤣
If the Nigerian Police and Military Cannot Solve Security, State Police Won’t - Galadima
The president and governors are looking for state police before the elections so they can use them as political thugs to attack the opposition and disrupt elections.
Buba Galadima, NDC Chieftain
It is intellectually dishonest to blame BBN, Peller, Carter Efe et al. for this Olodo Uprising, the truth is that the rulers of Nigeria, temporal and spiritual, are the true enablers of the weaponized ignorance that has birthed the mass stupefaction..🇳🇬🤔

So Justice Umar of the Federal High Court has restored the bail of Omoyele Sowore.
But this time, the bail conditions are far more stringent.
Sowore is expected to fulfill the following conditions:
He is to execute a bail bond of ₦200 million with two sureties in like sum.
What this simply means is that Sowore is not going to deposit ₦200 million in cash.
Instead, he must find two sureties who can convince the court that they each possess financial assets or property worth the exact amount of the ₦200 million bail bond.
The guarantors are not expected to pay this money to the court upfront.
However, both of the required guarantors must independently possess wealth or real estate valued at a minimum of ₦200 million.
They must also sign a legal undertaking, promising to forfeit ₦200 million to the government if Sowore flees from justice.
But that is not even the real challenge.
The real hurdle is that one of the sureties must be a traditional ruler from Sowore's community, while the other must own verified landed property in Abuja.
The question is:
How is Sowore supposed to meet such requirements with ease?
What if Sowore does not have a village traditional ruler whose assets are worth ₦200 million?
In addition, Sowore is also required to deposit his international passport with the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court.
At this point, I think these stringent conditions are beginning to look more like punishment than freedom.

VERY HEARTWARMING STORY!!
My father, Comrade ABC Ubani JP took pictures with several governors of Anambra State including the present governor of the State, but in our family sitting room we only have enlarged pictures he took with Peter Obi, while he served as the governor of Anambra State.
I once asked him, what Peter Obi has done for him that made him practically decorate our sitting room with his pictures.
He first said, that I should snap a picture with a governor first beyond asking him that question.
He went further to say, that before Obi became governor, they (Anambra civil servants) saw hell with respect to worker's welfare, payment of pensions and gratuities. Both my parents were state civil servants, now pensioners.
My father has been a Labour union leader since 1994, so he understood the government-workers faceoff, before Peter Obi practically made life easier for workers in the state.
When he, my father who is now 74 years old retired to the village a few years ago, his portraits with Peter Obi was one of the things he took with him. He moved them from our family house in Awka to our family house in Enugwu-Ukwu, where he is now spending his last days while still serving as the State Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners, Anambra State, which makes him the longest serving union leader in Anambra state today.
The Comrade as I call him is a prolific writer who wrote so many bulletins against former State govenors of Anambra. When I was much younger he was arrested a few times for some of his controversial releases against governors of the State. I remember my mother, Mrs Rose Ubani searching for days to find where he and his colleagues were being held.
When Peter Obi was first removed from office, which should be around 2007 or 2008, I was about 16 years old. But I remember like it was yesterday my mother calling for us to fast and pray as a family for him to be reinstated, and we did fast - our welfare as a family dependend on that. Graciously, Obi made a comeback. Two comebacks, to the glory of God.
Therefore when you see me defending Peter Obi on this space, it is not for nothing. It is a burden I must discharge in appreciating a man who made the difference in the governance of Anambra State.
No Peter Obi slander will see the light of the day, once I'm here, and I will be here for a very long time!
— Kingsley Ubani
The difference between Obi, Atiku and Tinubu is character, integrity and competence. Obi made his fortune in the private sector, the other two are full time politicians who made their money through political patronage. A better Nigeria is POssible
Today, the NDC has filed an appeal against the ruling as well as a stay of execution/injunction, which has been served with a covering letter to the INEC chairman and his team to do what is right according to law and what is legally sensible.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress has come to stay and remains a duly registered party in Nigeria which has participated in all the political processes so far, and, as I said yesterday, nomination processes have already been concluded and, in the eyes of the law, candidates have already emerged from the party for all offices across the country in primaries observed, monitored and recorded by INEC.
What is left is the administrative process of submitting the names to INEC, and we have been granted access to the portal to upload our qualified candidates.
My name and that of the Presidential Candidate have been uploaded to the INEC portal, while that of the Vice Presidential Candidate will be done tomorrow upon completion of the deposition. The process is also ongoing for other candidates.
In accordance with the INEC timetable, which we have religiously abided by, we have between now and the 11th of next month to upload all National Assembly candidates, while those of governors and State Houses of Assembly will end on the 17th of July. So there is enough time for all candidates' names to be submitted to INEC and there is no reason for anyone to panic.
As National Leader, I must also thank all aspirants and those who indicated interest for various offices. As they know, only one person can emerge victorious in primaries, no matter how well conducted. The processes were not perfect, but we have tried to resolve these differences within this short period, for a new party dealing with such a high volume of aspirants in a direct primary situation managed by stakeholders in every state and by party leaders.
The reconciliation processes have started and we expect them to reach everyone, to complement what I and the leadership have continued to do. And we assure them that all those who expressed interest will be carried along in the party's campaigns, committees and structures, because they constitute the grassroots strength and the backbone of our party.
Congratulations to all NDC candidates, members and all Nigerians and lovers of democracy.
Our multi-party democracy must not die. We will not allow desperados and mercenaries parading as political leaders to destroy our hard-earned democracy.
We thank Nigerians for their solidarity, support and prayers.
We also thank INEC, led by Professor Joash Amupitan, for their professionalism so far, and we expect them to continue on this path, and they will have the understanding of us all.
While we are thanking him for his actions in registering the NDC and two other parties as directed by the court, I also note his stance in filing an affidavit in opposition to the suit to deregister some opposition parties, and in reversing the non-recognition of the chairmanship of David Mark of the ADC as directed by the court.
Despite the imperfections of our institutions, INEC, the judiciary and security agencies, all leaders must be united to preserve the neutrality of the institutions that protect our democracy and our nation's integrity.
Having filed and served our appeal and the accompanying applications, the ball is now in the court of the judiciary, and we expect the judiciary to do what is right under the law.
Long live the NDC.
Long live Nigerian democracy.
