@BoutryDonald@MountRainierNPS yes, getting gate info back onto Twitter/X would be a huge plus. Typically, in past seasons, that info was posted at or even before 7am, which was perfect timing, since that's about the time many people need to actually make the trek out to Longmire.
@MountRainierNPS Given that winter weather is now right around the corner, I imagine the good people would like to know what's been accomplished during the off-season to ensure improved winter access for the upcoming 23-24 season? @MountRainierNPS@BrooksRangeGreg any updates the team can share?
@MountRainierNPS question: are those photos current!? If so, that’s wildly significant melt compared to this time last yr. had a sneaker pow day last June 15th 🏂
@AmericanPie313 @MountRainierNPS The NPS can’t solve your problem, only your legislators can. Ping the right people. (And you’ve got no disagreement from me on the principle of your claim.)
@MomBug@MountRainierNPS while cash is certainly legal currency, there are no federal laws at this point in time mandating that businesses — public or private — must accept cash as a form of payment. complaining to the NPS won’t change that; you need to petition your representatives to pass legislation.
@taimi3028@MountRainierNPS it’s possible too that they said April 10th, then deleted that Tweet and reposted with the generic “mid April” — based on how they’ve managed (unmanaged?) things this winter, it wouldn’t surprise me. also, the FAQs originally said “spring” for 7 days a week, and they changed that
@MountRainierNPS@MountRainierNPS, any update to the winter camping restrictions once the road begins to open daily in mid-April? That info is greatly appreciated for planning purposes, and I imagine I’m not alone in saying that 🙏
@MountRainierNPS Important question: When the road begins opening daily in mid-April, will there be an opportunity to winter camp at Paradise on days other than Saturday? That would be wonderful, as work on the weekends makes Saturday camping nearly impossible. Friday camping would be great 🙏
@MountRainierNPS Your FAQ page, linked to in your daily Tweet, states that the road will be open 7 days a week in the *spring*, conditions permitting. So what’s the deal? Please open the road.
@MountRainierNPS Please please please read your own FAQ page that you’re linking to in these daily Twitter posts. When will the road to Paradise be open daily? Says it will be open daily in the spring, and it is definitively the spring. Please advise.
@MountRainierNPS “When will the park open Longmire to Paradise Road seven days a week? The road will reopen 7 days a week in the spring, dependent upon weather conditions. We will post the reopening date on our website.” @BrooksRangeGreg, can you provide some clarification on this? It’s spring.
@MountRainierNPS the FAQs on the park’s website indicate that the road to Paradise will reopen 7 days a week starting in the spring. It’s now officially spring, so what’s the plan? Please advise. Will weekdays become available in April? Or even this week? Plenty of sun filled days ahead.
