Israel murdered the director of the Egyptian Committee in Gaza while Egypt were playing their biggest World Cup game in generations, days after Egypt’s head coach spoke up for Palestine.
This timing is not something anyone should be brushing off as coincidence.
when people say “stop being political” what they really mean is the system works fine for me and you’re ruining my vibe by reminding me it’s built on other peoples pain
i know this may be news to some but you can criticize politicians that you support. you're supposed to actually. thats how the relationship is supposed to work. you're not supposed to be a stan. *they* work for *you*
Palestinians as an indigenous population living under brutal military occupation and colonialism have every right to armed resistance against their oppressors. Solidarity with Palestinians and their right to life and dignity, must extend to solidarity with their armed resistance.
You are not a journalist if you have not condemned Israel’s murder of Anas Al-Sharif
You do not get to share the title of nearly 240 martyred colleagues, who fought until their last breath to do their job.
If you are silent, you are complicit.
I’m sitting on a public patio, crying for a man I never met. @AnasAlSharif0 carried Gaza’s truth to the world with courage that terrified Israel. They killed him for it. My heart is breaking.
this really just shows that gaza is the graveyard of myths such as “international law” and “international court of justice” and whatever the fuck else. no one here is protected. not the children, the women, the animals, the doctors, the journalists. israel is above the law.
I feel ashamed of myself that my heart burns like this for Anas and yet the murder of countless fathers and sons like him in Gaza has continued unabated every single day. How many universes have been turned to glass. And it will undoubtedly continue after this.
Imagine surviving massacre after massacre, only to be killed by hunger. Which is worse? To burn alive in your tent, to be sniped as you seek out food, to be split into two pieces by a bomb, or to starve until you resemble a skeleton?
In Gaza, death is not a matter of if, but how.
6000 @UNRWA trucks waiting at the border to feed those hungry babies, those hungry mamas and babas, those hungry kittens on the street. 6000 trucks could feed them for three months. But your tax dollars won’t let that happen.
