Your 'moment of doom' for Apr. 10, 2023 ~ Shell knew before Exxon.
"Shell already began collecting knowledge about climate change in the 1960s...As a result, Shell already knew in the 1970s that burning fossil fuels could lead to alarming climate change."

@ClimateHuman Should people fly less? Sure. Should they pass on meaningful life experiences to travel because of aviation’s climate impact? I would argue no. Should flying and recreational travel be more accessible? Yes, once the industry is sufficiently decarbonized.
@ClimateHuman Yikes a lot of the comments here are.. just awful. Climate denial is real.
For some perspective, yes, flying contributes to GHG emissions. However, aviation only accounts for 2-3% of global emissions and there is a lot of innovation w/ clean sustainable aviation fuels.
GOP removed housing regulations —housing collapsed
GOP removed railroad regulations—trains derailed

It’s almost like society needs rules to function?🤔 Stop deregulating billionaires. Start prosecuting those who commit fraud.
Biden just approved Willow.
He pledged to end drilling on federal lands. Millions of us collectively urged him not to approve Willow and took over the internet in doing so.
And he did it anyways.

If officially approved, this decision would fly in the face of @potus’ climate promises. And it would be a betrayal to the millions of young people and local residents who have raised their voices against it.

Hoboken, New Jersey is a dense city center that hasn’t had a traffic death in over 4 years. They’ve accomplished this by creating more narrow, one-way streets, high visibility crosswalks, raised intersections, curb extensions, bike & bus lanes, and removing parking spaces.
BREAKING: The Biden admin just announced an asylum ban.
The proposed regulation will effectively slam the door on asylum seekers who want nothing more than the opportunity to present their case. This isn’t just cruel, it’s a dismissal of our international treaty obligations.
@Cobylefko@SaintSiren We can 💯 advocate for and design dynamic and walkable urban areas, but demolishing / deconstructing 85%+ of unoccupied towers seems like an exorbitant waste of resources, labor, creativity, and is everything but a pleasant , safe / healthy environment to be in and revitalize.
@Cobylefko@SaintSiren Please explain in more detail why such a large % of buildings can’t be retrofit into housing, temp. housing or single occupancy units with shared bathroom facilities?
It’s important to consider long term climate migration and asylum seekers and the need to house those displaced
A black man…in Colorado…who owns 1,000 acres of land…is being harassed…his livestock are being killed…his dogs are being poisoned…his family is being threatened…simply for existing. Not because he hurt anyone, assaulted anyone, harassed anyone…
💧 For the first time in history, the US has entered a WATER war and the media refuses to cover the true cause: cows. A must-read on the water crisis. 🧵👇🏼
We're using too much water. Way, way too much water.
Yes, 40 million people rely on the Colorado River for water, but that less than 20% of water used is going towards residential usage.
Instead, we're using the water in other ways... 🐮

France is building an automated 47-mile subway line (M15) with 36 stations for an estimated $10.2 billion dollars, $1 billion dollars cheaper than what it cost to bring the Long Island Railroad to Grand Central. We just really need better cost control and project delivery.
