God, they always go for the arts and humanities and I’m so fucking tired. All you guys see is money, all you care about is profit and gain and power. We need more artists, musicians, writers, dancers. We need more educators, therapists, philosophers-people who UNDERSTAND people.
So just to summarize, venues will gladly host the racist slur-loving Morgan Wallen, repeated abuser Chris Brown, and proud Nazi supporter Kanye on tour, but draw the line at free speech they dislike? Cool. Cool. Cool.
Zohran Mamdani: “I’d like to congratulate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed on his victory. He ran a campaign best described by his words of money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for All. Despite him facing more than $60M in outside spending, he was able to prevail with a focus on a cost of living crisis and the way in which healthcare is exceedingly out of reach for those who have helped to make this country what it is”
Not exaggerating when I say the future depends on this catching on en masse. Kids, adults. Book clubs, silent reading groups. For the past twenty-five years tech has corroded our attention, intelligence and basic pleasure in living, and books are the key to winning them back.

NYC's response to the Knicks' run is an explicit rejection of Trumpism. Civic engagement is at an all-time high. Fearmongering about public safety was crushed by the hundreds of spontaneous watch parties. Unimaginably diverse groups rallying behind a sense of collective identity.
It's funny how the female reporter is just sitting there all calm while the man who told you that a woman is too emotional to be president is having a full blown crash out on national TV.
UPDATE: @MTA is sharing that we're looking at G train shutdowns EVERY weekend in June and Dec, 2 weekends in Aug, and 1 in May and Sept. This is unacceptable.
These shutdowns have disastrous impacts on our community. Small businesses lose customers in their busiest months. 1/
A reminder that this is how politics - and shame - is supposed to work. A politician is accused of major scandals, crimes!, and their party disowns them and they are forced out not just from a race from but from public life.
You’re not supposed to re-elect them to the presidency.
