@HughGriffin2 Doesn’t take much to imagine that. Where can I find the SLS that landed gracefully back on solid earth?
I truly pity those that can’t enjoy this for what it is; it doesn’t exclude you no matter how grumpy of a life you choose to live.
@PalmerLuckey@Ed_Realist It's pretty much the opposite of his take. 'Smart' kids, or kids with attentive parents, will be ~fine in traditional schools. It's the struggling that are screwed the most. Homeschooling isn't a scalable answer, either. Gotta change the fundamental structure of schools.
@SpaceKoala This guy wasn’t actually that far off when it comes to what TinTin-style satellites would have required. It was a boondoggle and was on a path that was likely to fail.
Fair points! What’s the biggest flaw with the concept of eliminating daily/frequent use? Other than some people want to use it, which is valid. But I’d still argue the ceiling there is trying to understand their uses, make them invisible to the user, and eliminate the need for any interaction.
I think of lot our daily uses have been ‘automated’ away to our benefit. Automatic sliding doors aren’t a perfect analogy but are something everyone would miss and very few appreciate.
For context, I’m the SpaceX guy consistently harping for physical buttons and as much manual control as possible. But once the part or process is consistent, effective, and simple enough to nail down and scale I agree with removing unnecessary actions.
@jonathanrwall I get it’s catering to the masses but using 7 iron carry is pretty silly. “7 iron” doesn’t mean much these days. I carry my 7 iron between 175 and 180 and driver swing speed is 125 avg.
That said, thanks for putting this article together. I’d love to understand impact on >> 125.
