@TheDoomSentinel@HlNOMARUSUMO@MatthewMcCrell I was answering the other guy, he asked about Steam. Why nobody complains that Steam is all digital.
What Sony does or does not I don't really care. But they did just recently remove access to movies people payed for.
@HlNOMARUSUMO@MatthewMcCrell Every game I have on Steam, after 20y, is still there.
Plus, they have also added many remakes or recompilations for free. Just because old versions may not work anymore.
@SemiAnalysis_ I think there was something related to ALD a while back that could also improve the process.
Don't know if they managed to get hold of enough of them before export controls tightened.
@radialexplosion@adamdived1 Valve knows sometimes releases are buggy. Refunds are needed.
On Switch: LoK Soul Reaver stuttered and has glaring asset loading problems only on Switch.
Shinobi also seems ok then you advance a few levels then becomes sub 30 FPS and stays there.
Not heavy games, bad ports.
@radialexplosion@adamdived1 @Rawameriwani I can't see any recent discounts for that Zelda, for instance. (in 3y)
Maybe it is an EU thing, Xbox had the same problem many years ago.
Still, $42 for a 9y old game. It is those types of deals but yeah, you seem to have it better. We can get some deals here but only physical.
@radialexplosion@adamdived1 @Rawameriwani The eShop is full of slop...
Nintendo needs refunds more than others. Many times the ports perform so bad to the point of being unplayable.
The eShop in the EU is still old version. You also seem to have discounts we don't :-/
@WobblingP This is great. People these days don't even know what pixel art looked like on CRT.
I have already experimented a bit with this on RetroArch. Most TV scanline effects seem to do a bit of horizontal blending. Monitor type ones not so much.
@radialexplosion@adamdived1 @Rawameriwani Sales on their games? At what $40 for very old games? Once a year? Others do it, sure.
eShop has no review system whatsoever, no refunds. No recommendation system. Smartphone slop everywhere.
If it was not for DekuDeals, I would have even spent less on eShop than what I do.
@jukan05 With this kind of margins, either they build fabs or new people come on board.
If they don't want to build, something is going on.
Part of this is certainly being tackled by shifting some HBM back to DDR5.
@kimyshi_yoon@adamdived1 @Rawameriwani Yeah, I'm on the same boat. May eventually upgrade mine but will wait. At least peripheral ecosystem is open and SW1 games just run.
Wished they enabled more perf while docked, which would help a lot with multi platf games.
@adamdived1 @Rawameriwani I'm sure he hasn't realized Nintendo 1st party games are the ones with the least discounts out there. Even if it is a 8y old game.
And the eShop, good luck using that. At least there is DekuDeals.
@AncientGameplay@hardwarecanucks That is more or less what Nintendo does.
I also think that if others do not want to further develop optical media, putting some kind of card reader in the console is the way to go.
Key cards for all games, support full game releases for big titles and developers who want it.
@Grimdoomer@_SixelAlexiS_@__silent_ I also honestly think this is a massive blunder because PS and Nintendo still have good shelf space and Xbox is a zero.
They will likely find out HW sales will be halved when this happens.
But that is their problem.
