@TAHK0@ima_1966 Like other Zelda's a lot of the game is a mix of chinese and southamerican culture. The decorations in termina are very southamerican, the masks are very chinese (noh teathre masks, nuli jing, the taotie...) , the giants are very similar in description to the "four symbols", etc.
@TAHK0@ima_1966 The goal was to make another game out of OOT's assets, the time-based gameplay loop came from another game project, possibly what later became pikmin, the way masks were used in OOT for NPC reactions led to using them to transform. The main mask itself is probably a taotie mask:
@TAHK0@ima_1966 The idea of the moon simply came from a desire to create anxiety as the time ran out, and the four giants were inspired by how many different cultures around the world represent cardinal points with gods. such as the four symbols or four creator gods. The moon's precursor is this
The Art Directors Guild slams Martin Scorsese for his generative AI partnership
They accused him of 'turning his back on the human artists who throughout his career have helped him create his most memorable works'
"Mr. Scorsese asks the question, 'how do you communicate what you see in your head to your cast and crew?' He claims the solution is the use of this generative AI program to do the jobs that are rightfully the jurisdiction of Art Directors Guild"
"Generative AI is only capable of producing this type of 'cinematic intelligence' by ingesting large swaths of copyrighted work, likely scraped from the internet without consent, credit, compensation, or transparency"
"The skills of Art Directors Guild Local 800 artists and designers bring the highest level of value to any film or television production. To think their professional contributions can be mimicked or outshone by generative AI, which is built on work likely stolen from them and many other artists from around the world, is a betrayal of the collaborative nature of cinema"
@meeermelada You are absolute right! I do think her left eye could be a little closer to her right eye, though, for the sake of looking more like in-game shiver.
@HTreeson@BrendanBlaber At least they replaced the farming sims with third party game announcements last direct. But yeah tbh I don't think directs are even necessary nowadays other than to satisfy the mere expectation of them. Nothing wrong with RPGs tho and here's no live service stuff that's just bs.
@aIIuringskies That's obviously flour or something, that amount of dust can't be that evenly spread and why would you even leave it laying around like that if you don't use it when the dock exists
@RLSuperman@aIIuringskies This is completely wrong. But even if what you're saying was true I actually wish we got more those games that you hate so much. Last direct was mostly lame grimy third party games that are exclusively targeted towards slow and stuck-up adults like you who don't understand games.
@NintendoAmerica I really hoped there would be a one more thing at the end like a new mario or something even if wasn't a 3D mario, it felt like those unusual extra 10 minutes of the direct went to showing off that one thumbfighting game tbh...
@NintendoAmerica This direct was great overall but it would've been a lot better if they had shown more games for gamecube like mario sunshine or smash and had a "one more thing" at the end after ocarina of time. Also we should've seen a bit more of OOT, deltarune, duskbloods and kingdom hearts 4
