"Shared responsibility" sound a lot like the "we found" of sales people on somebody else's hard found vulnerability. If someone found it it's his to do whatever TF he wants with it. Your customers are YOUR CUSTOMERS ,YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Do better so people will want to work with you
