@richcampbell Cool, I did something similar with a base class that I picked up from some @honeycombio examples (pizza shop I think). Nice seeing this written up
@kellabyte@JustDeezGuy I feel like this has so much to do with scrum and sprints. Meanwhile software is a marathon not a sprint, our software sucks because we tackle it one sprint at a time. Hyper focused on an arbitrary deadline while forgetting about the bigger longer term goals
@DamianEdwards@Aaronontheweb@davidfowl@eehardt I have a SignalR client application published as Native AOT using MessagePack. I’m fairly certain I could have used system text JSON with type resolvers as well but I’m using nerdbank
<PackageReference Include="Nerdbank.MessagePack.SignalR" />
@wagslane So true, in fact when I went to public school in 9th grade suddenly a math course required a TI83. Required. Um, my father got a masters in mathematics around 1952 and could run circles around me using one of those things. I clearly needed to know math
@mitchellh I just reviewed and closed the single most unhinged PR I’ve ever seen clearly created by an employee using AI. Tons of beautiful content in the PR markdown, great code changes, wrong freaking repository!!!
I hate these "coding isn't the hard part" tweets
I have been a part of and seen several companies not just struggling with "the right decision" but the culmination of their past technical decisions.
AI won't magically make this go away. Lines of Code is still a liability and producing it faster doesn't change or reduce it, if anything it increases liability.
Room temperature Twitter take strikes yet again
@edandersen FTG. I used to be a tow truck driver now I have an invisible white collar on thanks to software engineering. Was able to pay for my daughter’s college, never thought that was possible. Why create a system that stands to wipe out so much wealth from the middle class
@justinskycak@csanyi_andras I have that person under me right now and it’s amazing. I’ve been that person when I was younger. This is the first (maybe second) time I’ve had someone driven and talented under me and working with him is delightful. Sadly I lack that person above me
Why do all the Agile and Scrum folks always say “because we’re not doing it correctly”. As if that’s some excuse for a failed system. If nobody ever “does it correctly” it’s fundamentally broken
Pops, He’s innocent until proven guilty, that’s why he’s still on the street. Heck he probably won’t even be charged. He’s getting far beyond reasonable doubt. She was referred to as a domestic terrorist on national TV after being executed publicly (how’s that for presumed innocence). I sincerely hope you act the same way after a school shooting, or perhaps your political ideology has gotten in the way. The difference between us, I’m not being political about this. I just plain and simply watched an American citizen get executed and I’m will to believe my own damn eyes.
