I had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from IPSOS to discuss opportunities for partnership in research, monitoring and evaluation.

In the Kingdom of Buganda, data is essential because it helps us understand where the greatest needs exist and enables us to direct our efforts and support where they are most needed.

I am pleased that IPSOS has been following us since our leadership retreat. For us in Buganda, culture defines who we are and remains central to our development.

Through the Kabaka’s radio and television platforms, we are able to engage our people, identify their priorities, promote our cultural heritage and support economic development.

“What happened under Rúben Amorim at Manchester United is a perfect example of that confusion.” I watched a team that had an identity on paper, very clear, very modern, very structured. 3 at the back, wing backs high, midfield controlled, rotations in the half-spaces…everything you want in today’s tactical football.”

At Sporting, that 3-4-2-1 was lethal because it was built for his players. But at United? It just didn’t translate.

“And football is not played on paper.”

“At Manchester United, what I saw was a team constantly thinking instead of reacting. And when players start thinking too much, especially in the Premier League, you lose speed not just in legs, but in decision-making.”

Members of the International Association of Women Judges – Uganda Chapter (IAWJ-UC) today successfully held their Elective Annual General Meeting, ushering in a new team of office bearers.

Lady Justice Olive Kazaarwe was elevated from Vice President to President, while Lady Justice Joyce Kavuma was elected the new Vice President.

In her remarks, Lady Justice Kazaarwe Mukwaya reaffirmed her commitment to service above self, noting that leadership within IAWJ is rooted in dedication, sacrifice, and a genuine passion to serve the vulnerable, without expectation of monetary reward. She assured members that the newly elected Executive comprises proven and tested leaders ready to steer the Association forward.

Other elected office bearers include Lady Justice Elizabeth Jane Alividza as International Director, HW Dorothy Lwanga as Treasurer, HW Stella Amabilis as Assistant Treasurer, HW Roselyn Nsenge as General Secretary, HW Pamela Bomukama as Assistant General Secretary, HW Rehema Nassozi Ssebbowa as Publicity Secretary, HW Dr. Irene Namae as Assistant Publicity Secretary, and HW Fortunate Kamukama as Representative of Founder Members.

The AGM concluded on a high note, with laughter courtesy of the Queen of Comedy, Anne Kansiime, followed by a vibrant dance session that brought members together in celebration.
