I’m sharing this gift link to my recently published OpEd essay in the New York Times. Sleep well… or at least don’t stress about what the sleepmaxxers say:

Updates, reminders, and a state of alarm in my hospital system with ZERO inpatient beds left a couple days before Christmas. #Covid. It’s On. Again.
#RSV#flu Try not to be a sitting duck:

Get sleepy while driving? The usual causes aside, have you also considered carbon dioxide from recirculate mode? I had not until recently:

@Jixylady@McCormickMD@drseanmullen Hi. I fear Covid and do more than 99% of others to avoid catching it. But we are not seeing AIDS-like conditions (PCP pneumonia, Kaposi’s sarcoma, etc) like we saw with AIDS. Point and counterpoint:

@MSF Take this irresponsible tweet down. Its assumptions without proper investigation are damning the credibility if MSF, and stoking hatred like Hamas and other terrorists want.

Trying to decide whether to get the new #RSV vaccine? Here’s the “shared decision making” I’ll be trying to hash out in the office.

Todays Wordle was no coincidence, and I would go so far as to say it was a NYC vs. Philly provocation.
On the #Eagles big #SuperBowl day, the New York Times #Wordle just happens to be GIANT?! I stand by my first guess. Go birds!
@drkatielockwood@Tesla So funny! I’ve seen that, and a hulking superhero, and a cork screw, and an amazing car that I waited too long to buy and can’t now in good conscience because Musk is such a problem!
An open letter to one of my favorite #Sixers#76ers Matisse Thybulle. It’s never too late to get your first #vaccination against #COVID , especially when your teammates, and #Philly are counting on you!

@grahamwalker Great points here. I’ve felt this affinity with teachers too, and grocery store workers, and pretty much all jobs that serve a collective society. The antisocial, “back to normal”crowd is cannibalizing us all.
@drkatielockwood Agreed, it’s discouraging for the kids and for the rest of us, especially everyone’s grandparents. Some preliminary data out of S Africa suggests kids are getting infected and even hospitalized at higher rates with omicron. Might change calculus?
Saturday night of Thanksgiving break was never supposed to be about doing deep dives on coronavirus mutants, but such are the times we live in. Here’s a summary and synthesis of what I’ve learned so far about #Omicron:

@DrPaulOffit I respect you, but find this viewpoint stubborn and irrational... and boosters just got even more important as we try to confront Omicron. Changing unvaccinated minds is like convincing someone to switch political parties.
@Covid19Docs That sense of dehumanization we’ve all felt as medicine has gone corporate? This pandemic and the machine’s intimidation, disregard of hazard, and enforcement of the lowest common denominator PPE confirms the system will aim to preserve itself over the individual. F that
