We hired a new VP of Engineering who is obsessed with agile methodology.
He called a meeting on his first day and said we need to transition to 2-week development sprints.
He wanted daily stand-ups, retrospective boards, and continuous deployment pipelines.
He wanted us to actually write new code.
I realized immediately that he was an existential threat to my lifestyle.
I let him finish his impassioned speech about workflow velocity.
Then I stood up, walked to the whiteboard, and drew a single horizontal line.
I told him agile sprints are a localized solution for a localized mindset.
I said our infrastructure operates on a Zenith Release Cycle.
He asked what a Zenith Release Cycle was.
I told him it's a holistic, macro-stabilization framework where we observe the system in a state of prolonged stasis.
By not touching the code for 18 months, we allow the legacy dependencies to organically settle.
I told him that deploying bi-weekly updates creates micro-abrasions in our database architecture.
I used the phrase chronological data scarring.
The CEO was in the room and audibly gasped.
He told the new VP that we can't risk chronological data scarring just to satisfy a trendy tech buzzword.
The VP looked at me like I'd just invented a new color.
He was completely paralyzed by the sheer density of my fabricated jargon.
He quietly agreed to adopt the Zenith Release Cycle.
We're officially scheduled to deploy our next update in the third quarter of 2027.
I spent the rest of the afternoon buying things I don't need on Amazon.
Agile is a disease invented by people who want to be punished for their salary.
I refuse to participate in my own suffering.
The painful truth is this…
If the average believer in Nigeria were to read the Book of Acts without the influence of our present culture, he would almost conclude that he was reading about an entirely different religion.
Somewhere along the journey… we changed the tune.
The Church in the Bible sang one song. The Church in Nigeria has gradually learned another.
The Church in the Bible sought conformity to CHRIST.
We seek acceptance from men. They raised disciples.
We have become experts at raising audiences.
The sound coming from our altars is no longer the sound that echoed through Jerusalem… through Antioch… through Ephesus… through the Church that “turned the world upside down.”
The frightening part is this…
A generation can become so accustomed to a substitute that it mistakes it for the original.
And perhaps that is where we are.
We have become familiar with a version of Christianity that the Apostles would scarcely recognize.
One of the greatest judgments that can befall a people is not that they abandon the Bible.
It is that they continue holding the Bible while no longer allowing the Bible to define them.
I fear this is where the Church in Nigeria now stands.
We still raise our Bibles. We still quote the Scriptures.
We still end every sermon with, “GOD bless you.” But somewhere between the Upper Room and our generation…
We changed the tune. Read the Book of Acts carefully.
Read the Epistles slowly. Read the words of our LORD without trying to defend our present condition.
Then ask yourself… Who changed? Because it certainly was not GOD. The Gospel has not changed.
The HOLY GHOST has not changed. The demands of discipleship have not changed.
The cost of following CHRIST has not become cheaper. We changed. We altered the sound.
If you are reading this, can you make a solemn vow to the LORD. Tell HIM, “You will commit Your entire life to ensuring that this Gospel will not change in your hands.”
@NasheCeezet_zw I'll say it over and over again.
Love is not a feeling or emotion. Love is a decision and a commitment to that decision.
That is what love is.
I'm delighted that @coursera and @udemy have come together as one company to serve learners.
Both Coursera and Udemy were founded with the belief that access to high-quality education changes lives. Over the years, both companies have advanced this goal, creating opportunities for individuals, organizations, and communities around the world.
That role is even more important now, as AI is changing the nature of work and increasing the need for continuous learning. Helping people build job-relevant skills will be critical to how we create a better world.
By combining the strengths of both companies, we can better serve this need. We bring together a broader range of learning content, trusted instructors and educators, and engaging learning experiences. This creates new opportunities to make learning more personalized, more applied, and more accessible at scale.
I’m excited to serve as Chairman of the combined company, working alongside Greg Hart and the leadership team. There is a strong foundation in both organizations, and I look forward to what the teams will build together to expand access opportunity globally.

This is why “just make it compliant” is misleading.
You’re balancing:
System stability
User experience
Regulatory deadlines
Business pressure
All while the system is live and actively being used!
@ruffydfire They called it an agreement at first because it sounds better than "loan" classic gov/PR move. It's UKEF-backed export finance for UK firms to win contracts while Nigeria gets port upgrades. Repayment is built in, but they downplayed the debt side until your team got the memo.
SOLID Principles Explained with Clear Examples:
𝐒 - 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞
A class should have only one reason to change.
- Example: Instead of one giant User class that handles authentication, profile updates, and sending emails, split it into UserAuth, UserProfile, and EmailService.
𝐎 - 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧/𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞
Classes should be open for extension but closed for modification.
- Example: Define a Shape interface with an area() method. When you need a new shape, just add a Circle or Triangle class that implements it.
𝐋 - 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐨𝐯 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞
Subtypes must be substitutable for their base types without breaking behavior.
- Example: If Bird has a fly() method, then Eagle and Sparrow should both work anywhere a Bird is expected.
𝐈 - 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞
Don't force classes to implement interfaces they don't use.
- Example: Instead of one fat Machine interface with print(), scan(), and fax(), break it into Printable, Scannable, and Faxable. A SimplePrinter only implements Printable.
𝐃 - 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞
High-level modules should not depend on low-level modules. Both should depend on abstractions.
- Example: Your OrderService should depend on a PaymentGateway interface, not directly on Stripe or PayPal.
The real power of SOLID is not in following each principle in isolation. It's in how they work together to make your code easier to change, test, and extend.

My young grandson called the other day to wish me happy birthday. He asked me how old I was, and I told him, 77.
He was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, did you start at 1?
When you see this, please retweet and say ONOBIREN! See cinematography nau! We need 2k retweets on this please!
First official trailer for sweet film, out in cinemas on March 6th!

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."
The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?"
"Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly.
"OK," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?
The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea."
To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death, when you don't know shit?"
"Perception can distort reality more than madness itself.
And sometimes, the most dangerous illusion belongs to those who believe they cannot be wrong."
