LCS 1st Soccer are play-off bound once again! Proud of this team - the most mentally strong group I have had the pleasure to coach #LCSsoccer@JaniceRunza@KieferThalen
Tons of fun foraging giant puffball mushrooms from the @LakefieldCS woods to make soup together with the Rashleigh House crew last night. #RashleighLife#LCSboarding
It has been a pleasure bringing Matteo '23 to train with my @MLCFC1 team. A great player to coach and to now share the pitch with!

Playing against my team is a humbling reminder of how good they are and how old I'm getting! Grateful for the awesome @lakefieldcs staff who gave up their Friday night to support this!
Had so much fun playing on team staff in Friday night lights last weekend against our 1st soccer team! Letโs not talk about the score though ๐โฝ๏ธ @LakefieldCS
SCH3U spent our first day of class at the @LakefieldCS farm to see how chem applies to agriculture! Students tested soil samples for pH and the presence of key nutrients. Great review and anchoring for the year to come in an authentic way! #LCSLearns
Mr. Exton's Grade 10 Science Class is kicking the day off with an experiment in the lab! ๐งช They're creating film canister rockets with Alka seltzer and water. The goal? Determine which factors affect the rate at which the lid pops off ๐จ

It was a wacky time to be a first-year teacher, but I'm grateful for all the experiences learning math, science, and chemistry with incredibly resilient kids @LakefieldCS. Here's a few highlights! #LCSlearns
Many reasons to be grateful after receiving my vaccine today. Grateful for my @LakefieldCS community: to @rhigilbart for advocating to get our res team vaccinated ASAP, and for clinic volunteers like @IanArmstrong2 who made the process welcoming and easy
This was fun! Chem Ss worked in breakout room teams to solve a series of problems on Jamboard. Each correct slide earned a clue towards identifying the molecule at the heart of Evil Exton's world domination plan ๐ #LCSLearns
Grateful for this backdrop to an awesome student-led intersession day. Zoom in on the last pic to spot our special spectator ๐ฆ - this felt SO Lakefield!
@ElsonEducates SO relate to that feeling of stopping a cycle. Time to rethink my placement of this spiral's test on the last day of the module to give more time for debrief and reflection. Thanks for the podcast recc - due for a break from my True Crime playlist ๐
Marking math often has me feeling punitive - docking marks here and there for mistakes. Is this serving the purpose of using assessment as a tool to drive learning? 1/3
Hoping that this will help guide Ss towards achieving learning goals by leveraging mistakes as an opportunity to improve. The concern comes in providing meaningful feedback for Ss to engage with that doesnโt freely give solutions away. Thoughts? 3/3
For this unit's final problem-set, Grade 9 Ss will submit their assignment, receive actionable feedback, and have the chance to implement it before resubmitting for grading. It works for essays, so why not long-form math problems? 2/3
