The Cubs have 4 of the bottom 26 qualified hitters with RISP led by Seiya Suzuki who is at an MLB worst .123. No other team has more than 2 in the bottom 26. So I asked Craig Counsell if that's as unsustainable as 4 guys at the top, hitting like over .400 with RISP.
@OriginalClady@stephencurry93@rationalyankee If you can agree on whats BRI and whats compensation and then agree on the split its pretty cut and dry. Also its not like the league won't make a major concession to get it. Its not a cap and you get nothing situation
@stephencurry93@OriginalClady@rationalyankee Anti cap people always say the players make less money while espousing the greed of owners. Theres nothing stopping all 30 owners from paying way less than a 50/50 split or whatever is the agreement. They just hope owners spend more space dont cap them
@stephencurry93@OriginalClady@rationalyankee You assume that the league as a whole doesnt already operate on a budget? Taking the same $ spreading it out better and preventing a handful of teams from hoarding talent.
@jlittleton42@Nomadhidinghere Its what the players should be focused on though if they want whats best for their members. Of the league wants a cap something like this is the concession they'll need to make. Just like the owners offer worl off that
@stephencurry93@OriginalClady@rationalyankee Honestly if the numbers were based on the cbt and nothing else was said why assume it was any different than it is. Assumed changes when no one said there were.
Owners; we're gonna make more yellow widgets
Pa: the owners hate blue widgets theyre gonna stop making them
"Do you worry that 1994-95 repeats itself?"
Rob Manfred just now: "Of course I do. Of course I do. Look, we want to make an agreement. We made a proposal on one set of topics at the outset of negotiations, I went and said myself, we're open to whatever ideas people have..."
@stephencurry93@OriginalClady@rationalyankee Youre right but as a first offer to get talks going they dont need to get into the weeds on everything. Meyer admittedly assumed some things because they werent included and then made assumptions on top of that.
Oh boy what superstar will they add this deadline? Could they deal in division to get Mason Miller? Skubal? CJ Abrams would cook there..maybe all of em
The Dodgers OF situation surrounding all their OF prospects is gonna be a fascinating one
Andy Pages has CF locked
Kyle Tucker ain’t opting outta that contract, he’s in RF thru ‘29
That leaves 1 spot for De Paula, Hope, Sirota, Quintero, Tibbs, Davalan
Can’t play em all
@stephencurry93@OriginalClady@rationalyankee The players put out a huge multi faceted proposal and then made assumptions(admittedly)about the very simple proposal by the owners.
@CoreyShrader@GMBCSuperfan Like this guy if you saw the rates ISO babip and any other player you'd say wow look out in the 2nd half. Positively confounding
@GMBCSuperfan@CoreyShrader Im fine with him getting some runway for now im just not in the belief that itll work. Im not against Ross getting a look at some point either 3 true outcomes guy with very good def.
@GMBCSuperfan@CoreyShrader Thing is he was always a poor catcher. Elite arm and pop time carried 1000% of his value. Pre TJ. The power was a nice sign yesterday but everything prior was just small sample big time regression about to happen. Give me more like yesterday and I'll start buying in
