Intl players, especially higher pedigree prospects, have shown an ability to produce immediately in the big leagues. I attribute that to the fact that their development starts earlier

But when a player puts together the season that Pete has, it’s remarkable and, I just don’t agree with “Chourio will incrementally improve x% every year until he’s an MVP”

@andrewhzlhanson @berniefucks @G_Webs_Since_93 I love Chourio, he’s a key piece of my dynasty fantasy baseball team because his production at his young age has been so consistent. But at similar points in their careers, Pete IS hyper elite abd Jackson MAY BECOME hyper elite.

Jackson Chourio is a phenomenal player that will be great for years to come, but PCA is hyper elite and on a different planet rn

@natmcdermott2 You do misunderstand war. Think of it as a pie rather than a counting stat. Pete’s share of the Wins Above Replacement likely increased due to the replacement level decreasing (i.e. the player you are comparing him to is worse)

@MiniMegal @OHouls @Aaron59912965 Because 1 player going 0/5 with 5 Ks is at absolute max, 13% of your at bats being Ks. A position player can never LOSE a team a game, however offensively they certainly can win a game.

Also I think this shows how little people understand the everyday output of an average CF.

I guess the one point I will nibble on is Happ. We’re getting right to the point where I think he should hit the bench but he is a proven MLB hitter and Cubs need him, he’s owed time to figure out
