Every popular movement in the Middle East that has called for parliamentary democracy since 1876 has been opposed by some Western countries: from Urabi's Egypt to Mossadegh's Iran, passing through Algeria in 1991 and dozens of other historical phases.

All entry points into Gaza are closed. At the border, food is rotting. Medicine is expiring. Vital medical equipment is stuck. If the basic principles of humanitarian law still count, the international community must act to uphold them.
New mass expulsion of the inhabitants of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza after they had returned to the rubble of their city to live in tents in January after the beginning of the “truce”. They were forcibly displaced this morning by an Israeli army order.
🆘No food has entered Gaza since March 2, as all border crossings remain closed for both humanitarian & commercial supplies. Commercial food prices are surging, with some staples increasing over 200%.
WFP urges all parties to prioritize civilian needs and allow aid into Gaza.
Democracies were not supposed to attack other countries and violate the UN Charter (Iraq, Libya)
Nations were supposed to respect the ICC's rules
Imperialist wars were not supposed to happen (Russia & Israel)
Trump-like presidents were not supposed to happen.
State-directed economy was not supposed to lead the world in innovations.
Liberal economies were not supposed to erect tariffs barriers and ban companies.
Democracies were not supposed to build walls and fences against immigrants.
Free social media were supposed to be feared by autocrats not by liberals...

The decisions by the countries signatories of ICC to ignore the ICC rulings is a reflection of a totally crumbling international order. Countries have indeed violated UN rules, but there was always an attempt to mask that. But here you cannot mask it any longer. So you have to say openly that the international law is not one law but that there are two laws: one for rich and powerful countries, another for the rest. It is good to know that. At least things are clear. Might is right.
