A nonprofit took over because those wealthy folks brought the city to bankruptcy and didn’t want to pay taxes for parks that weren’t their front lawns.

i was at this protest, which was against the illegal sale of israeli settlement land happening at a nearby synagogue.
i was harassed by zionist extremists like the one below. but i guess the only new yorkers you care about protecting are those buying second homes on stolen land
A dem takes office it takes them 4 years to pass the We Love You bill, Which grants a 1 time $1200 loan to black small business owners. Every time a republican is in office day 1 they pass the all encompassing Nasty Mothafucka Act that kills every living thing on gods green earth
NYC observations after spending last week there
• people are actually outside touching grass (or cement 😅)
• very few AI ads or billboards around
• even cafes i went to - very few screens with claude code or cursor or some coding tool
• people are way more open to socializing. everyone is willing to strike up a conversation (not about AI agents)
• the energy is electric - everyone’s moving with purpose.
• found a way to talk to folks without mentioning AI
• way more artists, and non traditional creators. Met an actual physical product designer which was cool.
it’s genuinely refreshing to remember there’s a whole world outside the feed
been traveling the last few days and the SF tech bubble makes it easy to forget how alive real cities feel.
sorry SF, you’re still home… but perspective is healthy 🤷♂️
You know who actually had a rough week? No Other Land’s Palestinian director Hamdan Ballal whose family was just attacked again by Israeli settlers at the West Bank. A film that premiered at the Berlinale 2 years ago and won the Oscar last year yet the festival has not made a single statement to support their artists and condemn the violence.
The @DCCC-favorite in NY-17 @CaitforNewYork is tarring Beth Davidson for working with @emilyslist, @nynurses, and unspecified clients who "supported allowing transgender individuals to play on the sports team with which they identify."
For the Judge Street Journal:
Perhaps the American intelligentsia should stop fantasizing about moving to Canada and think about how to find a Zohran in each city and each small town?
It’s early morning in NYC and at the polling sites we already have the Zohran volunteers and the Chabadniks wrapping them in Tfilin. I love this Shtetl.
Unfortunately, I've started a Substack. But where else will you find unhinged book reviews, and which Paris restaurant gives you three carbs as side dishes? Subscribe to the real service journalism.

Seeing Anderson Cooper spinning another war for the US/Israel on CNN seems like a good time to remind everyone that I worked as a secretary at an architecture firm circa 2005-2007 and AC was a client and he’d come to meetings wearing an IDF sweatshirt. “Objectivity!”
