I am so proud of our Year 11 students. At the start of the year we really struggled with 12 mark questions, some students would literally leave them blank. Today we focused on adding analysis to our arguments. It’s lovely to see their confidence grow.

+ Allow funding to be reallocated from regional SACREs to CPD and bursaries to aid recruitment and upskilling
+ Encourage the creation of high-quality textbooks and other resources to support non-specialists
+ Clearly state that RE is rigorous, academic and knowledge-rich
+ Provide clarity on what RE is and is not in England
+ Give the subject equal status to geography and history
+ Remove a common excuse for why schools are not providing statutory RE
+ Create a national shared understanding of the importance of faith
+ End regional inequalities in RE where the curriculum varies from county to county
+ Provide guidance and a measuring stick for academies even if they're not obligated to follow it
+ Make the transition from KS2 to KS3 much smoother and easier for Y7 teachers
📃A National Curriculum for RE is long overdue and here's what it would do:
+ Remove uncertainty and legal quagmire around the current system
+ Provide an agreed minimum knowledge entitlement for the subject
+ Lead to an increase in high quality resources
