"How can they tell me not to wear a condom?"
Palantir CEO Alex Karp says the reason AI labs supplement the cost of tokens is to steal your alpha:
"The reason tokens are discounted is not so they can grow the market. They're discounted so that they can get access to your IP so that their models get better. And there was functionally no honest conversation about this or disclosure."
"Our partners are livid. The kind of safety they're most upset about is what they believe is the theft of their alpha."

Palantir CEO Alex Karp on what model companies are really asking for when they call for regulation and why they will be nationalized.
“It's a weird twist. They're asking for societal regulation to get out of the first line of defense, which is if you build a technology that can destroy 10% of the of the world, that has civil and criminal liability attached to it.”
“The only way to deal with this kind of liability is to go to the government and say nationalize us, please.”
"Another problem we have is seemingly everyone who understands this is on some payroll."
On April 7, 2023, Palantir launched its AIP Platform. The principles upon which it was built were critical then, and are determinative today:
1) Enterprises must stay sovereign.
2) Enterprises must keep and control their alpha.
3) Enterprises should pay for AI based on value created, and own what they pay for.
Below we have bolded some particularly prescient sections from that letter:

$NVDA and $PLTR are reportedly reducing their reliance on Anthropic as both expand toward alternative and open models including Nvidia’s Nemotron.
Palantir still supports Anthropic so this looks more like a broader shift toward a diversified model stack.
Palantir is already transforming Western enterprises & military with measurable outcomes with today’s models. They were doing so with last year’s models. They were doing so before LLMs were a thing.
I don’t believe we’ll see a pause in development of models. But hypothetically even if there was, I’m not worried about Palantir. The train has already left the station.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp: "If we didn't have adversaries, I would be very in favor of pausing this technology completely, but we do.” 👇
He is absolutely right. China has closed the AI gap with the US. Any American AI slowdown would hand over the AI supremacy to China.
Palantir CEO Alex Karp says people arguing we should pause AI development are not living in reality and de facto saying we should let our enemies win:

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Palantir honors the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families who carry their memory, and the heroes who ran toward danger. These heroes answered the call that day—and continue answering it by keeping America safe and strong today.
We are grateful to all those who have defended our country and protected our freedoms, both then and now.
We will never forget.
Palantir CEO Alex Karp on optimizing @nvidia's supply chain:
"Nvidia has the most complicated supply chain in the world."
"Their supply chain is more complicated than many countries' supply chains."
"And it has to work. If they don't ship, a lot of the things we do in this country and around the world will not work."
At AIPCon 11, Palantir CEO Alex Karp breaks down why Palantir stands apart from the parasitic software industrial complex, what we refuse to build, and how Sovereign AI deepens our alignment with our partners.
