A young Russian research lady technician who worked on the plague bacteria recently died because of pneumonia. She worked at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Research Institute of Siberia and the Far East .

The Americans suspect the incident is a lab accident in a facility that works in bioterrorism. Americans officially fund 124 bio labs worldwide, and they bombed one of their bio labs in Ukraine to prevent the Russians from retrieving pathogens within it, which is a different matter.

The Russian position is that the young lady's death from "pneumonia is of unknown etiology." No pathogen has been isolated, there was no test tube broken in the research facility, and no one else has acquired secondary infection so far.

There is no genetic sequence available for the pathogen implicated.

We have also been informed that the Israelis possess an mRNA vaccine against the plague bacteria, which is reported to be 100% effective!

Remember that antibiotics, available in nearly every Indian township, effectively controlled the 1994 Surat, Gujarat, plague outbreak.

Vaccines were NOT used to combat the Surat plague outbreak.

The first randomised trial reports that oseltamivir (Tamiflu) doubles the death rate in critically ill patients with the flu.

We already knew that oseltamivir, or Tamiflu, is of little help in patients with mild flu; it does not prevent hospital admission, pneumonia, bronchitis, or transmission.

The 15th of August in 1947, for Independence Day, was chosen solely by Mountbatten because it was the day the Japanese had surrendered to the Allied forces in 1945, and Mountbatten was then the supreme Allied commander of the Southeast Asia Command.

A French randomised study published yesterday (in The Lancet) has shown that statin tablets for primary prevention in people over 75 years without atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease do not reduce mortality in a three-year follow-up.

Earlier a meta-analysis of 21 randomised trials had revealed little clinical benefit with statins in terms of mortality, heart attack, or stroke in terms of absolute percentage (JAMA).A meta-regression was inconclusive regarding the association between the magnitude of statin-induced LDL-C reduction and all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction, or stroke.

Another meta-analysis of eleven randomised trials reported the median postponement of death for primary and secondary prevention trials was 3.2 and 4.1 days, respectively (BMJ).

A statin tablet for primary prevention may provide little clinical benefit, especially in the elderly.

Critical thinking is preferable to blind beliefs in demigods of any sort.

Facing drastic decline in Covid vaccine sales, will Pfizer pivot to an RNA influenza vaccine? There is no public evidence of seeking approval from the FDA so far.

This may be related to a weak study published last December, which reported as many as 18 deaths and an absolute efficacy difference of only 0.3% in favour of Pfizer's RNA flu shot versus a conventional flu vaccine.

It's intriguing to see a recent piece in the Hindustan Times report a surge in influenza cases in Delhi this month, just a week after the approval of the Moderna RNA flu shot.

Despite knowing that millions got disabled, injured, and also died by the mRNA Covid vaccines, the FDA, for reasons best known to them, has approved an mRNA vaccine for influenza based on the Fluent Trial.

The Fluent trial did not use a placebo, shows only a 0.8% improvement in effectiveness compared to the regular flu vaccine, lasts for a median of just 6 months, and has 6% of people experiencing serious side effects from the mRNA vaccine.

Worse, employees of Moderna, the vaccine's manufacturer, prepared the manuscript, and a third party wrote it.

Money, profit, and greed appear to be at play; no lofty ideal or noble cause.

The lights went off towards the end; continuous electricity is a pipe dream even after 80 years of independence!

I had, on national television, way back in March 2020 called out Tony Fauci a fraud. He never once gave me the opportunity to change my mind.

A new medication called orforglipron (which is an oral GLP agonist) is better at lowering blood sugar, weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol than dapagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor, according to a study published in the Lancet yesterday.

The drug company-funded study deliberately ignores the medicine's side effects, which led 20% of participants to stop.

It is imperative that more trials be conducted before the widespread use of orforglipron.

India has the largest chunk of TB patients in the world. There are more than 2.7 million new cases of TB each year in India, with 900 deaths each day. Around 5% of patients have drug resistant TB ,which can be challenging to treat.

A South African study shows that a pragmatic 6-month treatment schedule for drug resistant TB is not inferior to standard therapy ranging from 9 to 18 months.

On an equally serious note the theft of about 5 billion rupees from donations and offerings made to the Ram Mandir is a major tragedy. To embezzle from the Temple of Temples , which was made after 500 years, and after enormous fire and fury is beyond belief.

The Iranians are no longer interested in a ceasefire. Rumour has it that they have at least one nuke, if not two. They have signalled to the Americans that they will demonstrate the nuke if the bombing in Lebanon continues and the Hormuz blockade remains.

However, the front-page news in today's Financial Times is even more alarming: three vaccines against Ebola are being rapidly advanced into clinical trials, and potential treatments will be tested using "no-frills" protocols that previously identified remdesivir as a "lifesaver" during Covid.

Even the WHO was compelled to advise against the use of remdesivir in patients with Covid because it failed to alter clinical outcomes and had no effect on mortality. Remdesivir carries a mortality rate of more than 80% in Ebola patients with a high viral score.

It is imperative that repurposed medicines are tried out in Ebola patients.

Requiring the Delhi Gymkhana Club to be evicted on the basis of security risks or its status as a colonial vestige is nearly preposterous. It is not a security hazard, as the prime minister will shortly relocate to a new residence.

Eliminating colonial vestiges or relics serves no purpose. How many additional relics do you level up? India Gate, Gateway of India, Teen Murti Bhawan, Connaught Place, Rashtrapati Bhawan, and Parliament House?

The absurdity is revealed when we mandate that no game developed by the English be played. Should we also eliminate cricket, hockey, and football?

Instead, it is imperative that the youth be cautioned to avoid division in order to prevent foreign occupation. This almost appears to be a deflection from the real pressing concerns that the public is confronted with.

I endorse ivermectin for those afflicted with Hanta virus pulmonary syndrome, drawing from my experience in managing RNA virus infections, including influenza, parainfluenza, and Covid, utilising oral ivermectin.

Transmission of the Hanta Andes virus between individuals is well-documented; regrettably, the mortality rate can be significant.

The WHO has rejected ivermectin as a therapeutic option; however, I dissent. The genome has been patented.

Why would Tony Fauci recommend #Paxlovid for any patient sufferring from Covid, despite a paper with a mixture of two randomised trials concluding Paxlovid is ineffective at reducing hospitalisations or deaths in vaccinated patients with #COVID?

Why would the @NEJM invite Tony Fauci to write an editorial on a paper that shows Paxlovid's ineffectiveness and fails to address its dangerous interactions with cardiac medications?

Is it because the drug is made by @pfizer ?
