@JoelKatz Accidents show the vulnerabilities of a system. Countless times when automation saved the situation they were not recorded. As an end user, I probably am more appreciative of the comfort the protection affords when the odds are stacked against me. I have one less thing to worry..
@JoelKatz At least one situation where automation has a better chance than human intervention is the autopilot windshear escape mode. The autopilot can adjust the elevators more rapidly at greater sensitivity than a human while taking in multiple input from sensors for envelope protection
@JoelKatz A rational human in good state of mind, possessing knowledge and understanding being always in charge probably is nearer to the truth IMHO. It’s a point where perhaps we have to agree to disagree.
@TheFigen_ I’m not sure how to say this properly but having the sun in your eyes or on your neck is uncomfortable to say the least.. Perhaps this is best at night..
