@HadleyFreeman@BBCFrontRow I only have to remember scenes from his films and I'm laughing. ๐คฃTrying to imagine him making them today but I guess he would. He's a one-off. Happy ๐ฏth birthday ๐๐ท Mr Brooks.
Mary Lindell, one of the few women parachuted into France for MI9, ran escape lines under the alias Marie-Claire.
Despite arrest and concentration camp imprisonment, she continued organising routes for downed airmen.
Her resilience helped save hundreds of Allied lives and exemplified MI9โs daring operations.
Have you heard of her before?
@DrHelenFry Yes. I have two books about her and there is a documentary about her too. Years ago I rented the video from the BFI (iirc). She was a tough woman and stood up to the Germans.

Have you heard of the Military Intelligence Museum?
Itโs moving to one of Britainโs best-kept secrets: the London Tunnels.
Built to protect us during the Blitz and hidden for nearly 70 years - these mile-long tunnels are about to open to the public!
Iโm proud to be an ambassador for this exciting project!
