Planting next years crops is underway.
In this video it shows the process of filling the drill up, to planting and even rolling the crop to get a good seed to soil contact.
What do you think of the drone footage of the night planting ?

Lucy is at university training to be a physiotherapist but has come back for a second harvest. I love working with my sister it’s so fun and we just get on. Lucy works so hard and I am so proud of her how she has learnt so quickly how to use all this big machinery.

🌾18th August 2022 harvest was finished🌾

Farmers are the best group of people to understand the effect of changing climate, we have to adapt change and work with the weather. Each year brings different / new challenges, last year it was extremely dry, with fires in the field and equipment. Plus limited water to drill the crops.
This year the wet weather has affected crop and straw quality resulting in fines and rejections for the crops and difficulties with wet bales.
This is what makes farming so diverse, interesting and challenging. Every year the climate is ever changing, as is farming.

Today’s weather seems a world apart from yesterday, when combines managed to roll, albeit in moist crop. Got some in the shed though.
