It’s always interesting to see how certain foods could help prevent or lead to cancer. I think it’s important for patients and providers to stay on top of research and eat green. #beh353@beh353
@nida_sheikh20@beh353 I think you will make a great PA in the future! I like the ideas you have in mind as a healthcare provider. Good luck! #beh353@beh353
I plan to use nutrition as in the future as a PA by education my patients about fad diets and popular press articles. It is important to make patients feel comfortable with their provider and I will try to be empathetic towards them to help them get healthier. @beh353#beh353
I would share this link to any of my patients who were pregnant. This source is trustworthy and the article itself is an easy read. It is very detailed ay the same time which would be very helpful in making healthier choices. #beh353@beh353 https://t.co/LOHKG49GZS
@siranush28@beh353 Thanks for sharing this article! It definitely is an easy read and I am sure it is a great place to start off from when working towards a healthier lifestyle. #beh353@beh353
@thefarmbabe brought up a very important aspect of food labels. There have been many times that people I know have fallen for things labeled “natural” thinking they were doing their bodies some good. Unfortunately this is not true in many cases. @beh353#beh353
Did you know that there is no formal rule to govern the term “natural” on food labels?
“Natural” does not me pesticide free, it does not mean non-GMO, and it does not describe anything about the nutrition, safety, or health of the product.
Quit spending money on words!
This article is interesting as it shows that food is an important factor in diagnosing and treating certain illnesses. It is important for care givers to be aware of nutritional facts in order to provide the best possible care to their patents. @beh353#beh353
@annbeh353 @beh353 I totally agree with you! It is so important for patients to not feel judged or at fault when they are visiting their pcp. Family and society are harsh enough on them. Providers need to understand and educate patients on their options instead. Thanks for sharing! #beh353@beh353
The ‘Everything You Know About Obesity’ article was a very interesting read. Diets don’t work, many obese people are metabolically healthy, and in the end habits are what matter. Knowing these aspects allows providers to be less biased towards overweight patients. @beh353#beh353
Introducing healthy food options to children at a younger age is so important for parents. If good food choices and healthy eating habits are formed at an early age, it will be easier to maintain that lifestyle as these children grow into adulthood. #beh353@beh353
@siranush28@beh353 Hi,
I was shocked as well to see obesity being linked to genetics. It is something that is not said often and I think it should definitely be incorporated in future interactions with patients seeking help. #beh353@beh353
I had always linked obesity to unhealthy food choices and eating more calories than we burn. I was surprised to learn that this could be something already in our genes. I think figuring out if this is a genetic issue would help getting to a solution be simpler. #beh353@beh353
This was an interesting read. With this week revolving around unhealthy food choices, this article may be of use! Reading ingredients to identify junk vs food is so important. The shorter and simpler the ingredient list the better! #beh353@beh353
@SDela_22@beh353 Hi Shanell, I completely agree with you! I have planned on doing food prep so many times but always find myself resorting to easier quicker and unhealthier meals as well. #beh353@beh353
A barrier in healthy eating that I can relate to is expected consumption of unhealthy foods in certain situations. These situations can be going out with friends or having family over. In both scenarios, no one expects to eat healthy. I eat lots of junk food! @beh353#beh353
Vitamins are getting easier and easier to take and are coming in many forms. This is a great way to take vitamins for those who have trouble taking them separately. #beh353@beh353
A dynamic energy drink specially designed for young people's sports life, adding 4 kinds of vitamins,2 kinds of essential minerals for the human body, and dietary fiber respectively, a variety of fresh tastes, 900ml large capacity, recharge your energy smoothly during exercise.
@nida_sheikh20@beh353 This was interesting to see it relates back to Pakistani culture and how turmeric is considered to be so healthy. Thanks for sharing! #beh353@beh353
I came across this article discussing is it was even worth taking supplements or vitamins or at all. The verdict was interesting being that it made no health difference in terms of heart disease, cancer or mental illness. #beh353@beh353 https://t.co/qyXO8OWLwy
No wonder I feel like getting my life together after hitting the gym every now and then! All of these benefits on top of getting healthier make exercise that much more important in our daily lives. #beh353@beh353
