For those hoping the new US administration will take a hard line on Pakistan’s military, pursue sanctions, press for Khan’s release etc, news of US-Pak cooperation on the Sharifullah arrest is a reminder that US still believes the Pak establishment can be helpful on some fronts.
@Homo_Sapien_22 Tourism is one of the mainstay of Nepalese economy so has to be tourist friendly. Though I only visited Kathmandu but I loved it - I would recommend visiting Pokhara too; very pretty!
We have to stumble through so much dirt and humbug before we reach home. And we have no one to guide us. Our only guide is our homesickness.

Hi everyone, as we're aware, honor killings and honor-based violence persist in Balochistan, particularly in green belt. Recent news reports indicate the tragic killing of a woman along with two men. I'mlooking to connect with organizations working on honor killings.
Once we're done "men"-ing the heinous incestuous rape and murder of Maria from Toba Tek Singh, let's talk about:
1. Why are there no safe shelters for women to leave, across the country? And why are the ones that exist toxic shit holes - and yes this is directed at Dar-ul-Amaans?
2. How unemployment and financial insecurity are the biggest hurdles to women's independence, hence making Pakistan's macro fiscal stability a fundamentally feminist issue.
3. The reluctance of renters and the real estate market to rent housing to single women, and the affordability and safety of such places.
Basically, every single woman in Pakistan is at a risk of rape and murder - it's a fact no one can deny. Where is the safety net though, and is the State taking this issue seriously enough?
The non-responsiveness of the state to the issue of missing persons mentioned by @rafiullahkakar is in fact a very deliberate response designed to keep people in a perpetual state of fear. The radicalization this is leading to gives the state even more excuses to commit violence.
Almost every Hazara family has/knows a shaheed killed in various systematic killings from 1999 onwards in Quetta, Balochistan. You can read about them in @MaisamIltaf's coauthored research study "We will make Pakistan their graveyard"
Insane!!! Banned Sipah Sahaba/LeJ's Ramzan Mengal has filed nomination for NA-264. Mockery & betrayal of thousands of Hazara Shias killed by him in Quetta. Instead of arresting him, he's being granted access to parliaments. @ECP_Pakistan shd immediately cancel his papers!
In Pakistan, the plight of Balochistan so often plays out in the shadows. The current, women-led campaign against state oppression, by bringing its protest to the heart of Islamabad, has made it impossible for the state-and the country-to look away.
It’s activism at its bravest.

In protest, returning my Sitara e Imtiaz, given to me by a state that continues to abduct and torture Baloch citizens. Journalists of my generation have seen @SammiBaluch and @MahrangBaloch_ grow up in protest camps. Ashamed to witness a new generation being denied basic dignity.
Shame on you Islamabad police for blatantly lying, this is 2023, the era of social media. Due to this kind of censorship all these years people outside Balochistan can still not differentiate between Baloch and Balochi.
You can control media and journalists!
You can silence HR groups, so called progressive circles, and civil societies!
You can make puppet political and religious Parties.
But
You can’t stop resistance! ✊
