@PhilWMagness@naval The paper Piketty & Zucman released before the Argentina runoff election in 2023 (that tried to knock out Milei) is a beautiful time capsule to complete economic ignorance. Dirty behavior. These men are activists, not academics. I can’t get past that track record.
@lostinthepatch 1. Start portco, or
2. Have coworker/friend start portco, or
3. Consult for portco’s, one eventually offers you a spot
4. Get assets bought by portco and pray they retain you (low prob)
imo all network/proximity based vs recruiter/job posting.
@TysonSlocum@mattyglesias Thank you for sharing this article. I haven’t seen modern enviro groups say the quiet Marxist part out loud. If Germany stays the course, this will be the playbook that dismantles the EU. Although tragic, a sacrificial gift from Germany to Russia & the Middle East.
@THE_REAL_CH3 Not that you asked, but came across this once and honored the deal (when didn’t technically have to) with a second shot, due to location not being drained on the first shot. Didn’t lose a stick, wouldn’t feel right shafting them.
@rmcentush@AlexEpstein Good article. There is an irony in Silicon Valley entering the energy market, and out of operational necessity inadvertently killing the LCOE metric McKinsey made famous, making renewables more adoptable by shoehorning real cost (& real commentary) into the transition equation.
@trevor_rose_@PLM_Pimp What year they anticipate the $100mm hunting licenses or $100mm leasing budgets are coming back… asking for a friend.
Business cycles cycle, so it has to be one day, it would be nice to hear a call on it.
@GreasebookGreg The history around the Rangely (field over by the CO border) around that same time is fun. Massive pipeline from there to SLC that had refining buildout associated with it. I think the pipe crested at highest elevation for an oil pipeline at the time.
