Congratulations President @MMuizzu !!
This a defining milestone for the Maldives.
You listened to us. You heard us. You pledged to do this. And you did it!
Well done!
👏👏👏👏👏
Since the enactment of the RTI Act in 2014, this marks the first time in the history of the Maldives that the President’s Office and all Ministries have achieved 100% compliance with proactive disclosure requirements. Information that had not previously been accessible to the public has now been made available.
Transparency is not merely a policy objective. This administration recognizes the fundamental right to information as a cornerstone of public trust and democratic governance. This is a significant step toward advancing transparency, strengthening public access to information, and increasing accountability.
As we reach this important milestone in our journey toward a more open and accountable government, I commend all institutions and public officials whose dedication made this achievement possible. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to continuing this meaningful work and enhancing public access to government information through digital platforms, ensuring greater civic engagement in government activities and decision-making.

On this #GlobalDayofParents, we honour the selfless commitment of parents whose lifelong sacrifice nurtures the foundation of our families. Their love and resilience shape future generations, the strength of our nation, and we stand together for parents in recognizing their vital role in Maldivian society.
This administration remains steadfast in supporting parents and protecting every child’s future, by investing in education, healthcare, and community programs that uphold the Maldivian tradition of family as the cornerstone of our society.
On the joyous occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, I wish to extend my heartfelt felicitations to His Excellency President Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev @presidentaz, His Excellency Prime Minister Ali Hidayat oglu Asadov, the Government, and the people of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has come a long way since its independence, charting the course of its development in line with the aspirations of its people. I wish Azerbaijan bright days in the future.
Our bilateral engagements in recent years have explored the immense potential for expanding commerce and people-to-people ties between our countries. I am pleased with the progress made to expand our cooperation in these areas and beyond.
I warmly welcome the United Kingdom’s decision to suspend tariffs on tuna imports effective 20th May 2026.
This important development will support British consumers while delivering meaningful benefits to the Maldives’ fisheries sector, strengthening fishermen’s incomes, supporting island livelihoods, and expanding opportunities for sustainably caught Maldivian tuna in the UK market.
The Maldives is globally recognised for its world-leading pole-and-line tuna industry and its commitment to responsible and sustainable fishing practices. This milestone reflects the close partnership between the Maldives and the UK and the importance both countries place on sustainable trade and economic resilience.
I thank the UK Government and all partners who contributed to this positive step forward for our fishermen and our economy. 🇲🇻🇬🇧

We are deeply saddened by this tragedy, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased Italian, the missing four Italians and everyone affected.
The search for the 4 remaining missing divers remains our highest priority, and the Government of the Maldives appreciates the support from the Government of Italy to the ongoing extensive recovery operation.
