PHOTOS: An arsenal of commercial grade fireworks was being delivered with a flatbed truck to an apartment building in the heart of downtown. An observant citizen reported it to the cops who intercepted the delivery. This is an indication that young people who caused mayhem downtown on the July 4 holiday over the past several years are intent on doing it again. And it’s not clear that policing alone will ever be enough to control large and disruptive crowds who care more about capturing a video for social media than respect for the law or their fellow citizens who just want to enjoy the holiday.
