AutoCAD MCP is way more insane than people realize.

This is the kind of work engineers normally spend hours doing manually: routing systems through a building, moving geometry around conflicts, managing layers, adjusting dimensions, and keeping the whole drawing consistent.

Now AI can sit directly inside AutoCAD through MCP and actually operate the project. It can create geometry, modify drawings, manage layers, add dimensions, inspect the file, and keep iterating instead of just telling you what buttons to press.

That changes CAD completely. You are moving from “draw every damn thing yourself” to describing what needs to happen and letting an agent execute the tedious parts inside the real file.

The engineer still decides what should be built. But clicking through hundreds of tiny corrections, rerouting objects, and maintaining the drawing is exactly the kind of work MCP is starting to eat.
