@liujackc You still need to KYC the source of funds so it can’t be open to just anyone. I would see this as a separate type of shares from preferred a or b for example. Designate xxx shares as the ones that can be purchased on chain, establish rules that can be enforced for who sends $$
@liujackc What problem are you trying to solve here? Wire transfers are reliable and domestically can arrive the same day, so I assume it doesn’t have to do with the speed of funding.
@liujackc Ie, company x has a wallet with address 1, anyone that sends funds to that wallet receives equity via a token conversion or smart contract logic.
@liujackc However, if you mean some mechanism where capital could flow freely into a company without requiring the fundraising effort, I think I see your point.
@liujackc I have never heard of the costs of raising a round as a barrier to entry of raising said round. From my experience companies raise annually because it consumes time from either the ceo and or leadership team when they can be focused on company or product issues.
@awscloud@Amplitude_HQ@lob for all coming up with creative ways to help us out. @lob takes the cake though as they surprised me today with a second relief package I wasn’t expecting. If you need printing over API, I highly recommend them.
As a reaction to the impact covid-19 has had on couchsurfing’s business, I contacted all major vendors to see what could be done in terms of temporary price adjustments, payment terms, etc... I am grateful to the following:
@LondonBreed@BarackObama What training will law enforcement receive, on an ongoing basis, as a follow up to 8cantwait? If all they know now is “choke holds and strangle holds” for example, what will they replace that with? What is the curriculum? Who teaches it?
@timpauly @conorsen I don’t think so. The dollar amount may be less but the main lifestyle cost drivers like rent and food go way down. Will likely feel like a raise.
@jmj Your statement assumes successful engineers succeed independently of their orgs. I think enabling an engineering mindset or at least understanding of engineering processes throughout an entire organization vastly improves engineer “success” as opposed to “hire good engs!”
Who wins here? Take away focused food operations and infrastructure: @CloudKitchens@UberEats@Grubhub@DoorDash . Leverage the food experience against personal space. Who loses? Commercial real estate portfolios with food service properties.
Food oriented commercial real estate will see strong negative price pressure post covid. For example, a restaurant that seats 50 people today and pays $10k/month in rent. Fast forward a couple months when they reopen.
Sq/ft per diner typically scales with the average revenue per customer, but this rule doesn’t apply in a world where every customer, regardless of price, demands space.
