Glad to finally share this preprint! https://t.co/1HHBS6NTc2. We developed a tool for the prediction of gene expression from the DNA sequence, and the subsequent association of the predicted expression to disease status in order to find new candidate gene-disease associations

Moreover, although each position weight matrix is paired to a transcription factor, we could find no functional relationship between the PWM-derived score and the activity of the transcription factor. This was somehow expected since our model isn't informed by epigenetic features
